Meima just for you I will let you know how the boys work tomorrow.

From a very regular reader, but highly irregular poster - welcome back Salim - your training posts are a highlight on here.

I hope your early season pick of our picks in Blakely debuts this week and makes a big impact.

Surely if Freo top of the ladder they get the Friday night game?
We play Sunday in R22. We will be playing Port off 6 days break on the Saturday. We'll play the Qualifying final on the Saturday too, with Hawks getting the Friday night.

We play the round before the last game on the Sunday.

By rights we should play Friday but I expect the AFL will give us the option and if we are rostered for Friday then we aren't playing the full squad.

The Peel team won't mind playing Friday night, I'm sure...

Well guys, myself and Salim wandered down and sat under the eves in the sunshine with the media and the old training watchers.

Groundskeeper Pat told me that the ground was underwater when he arrived at dawn this morning and that Bondy was going to try and have training moved to Subi Oval instead. But it cleared up and the ground drained well and it was very pleasant sitting there in the sun. Crisis avoided.

No David Mundy due to a migraine, Johnno, Alex Silvagni, Max Duffy, Clancee Pearce and Danyle Pearce all on light duties and no sign of Nat Fyfe and Crowls was in the gym.

After the media scrum left the match sims started with Connor Blakely taking David Mundy's role in the side and Zac Dawson was playing in defence.

This saw Alex Pearce shifted forward for stints along with Zac Clarke. Overall a good low-key session with good skills.

Hard to tell the final squad, but I would think that Danyle Pearce comes out for Tendai and Dawson comes in for Tabs. I think Connor Blakely comes in for Matt De Boer. Maybe Zac Clarke back in for Tabs, Griffin or Sandi.

I would expect 3 changes only however.

Great stuff Harry, however Fyfe is out so I'd expect it's Blakely for him.

Much more fun reading these reviews with its little nuances and quirky items than the club press release.

Come on down Salim :).

How was Alex doing up forward? Tabs does need a bit of a threat to his position. Hopefully alex does like crozier and kicks 2-3 goals. If crozier does 2 goals average a game he has done his job obviously with pressure acts a must.

Yes, you are correct there.

It was hard to tell who is in and who is out because the players were swapping between red bibs and yellow bibs during the match sims as the coaching team tried different things.

Heard a rumour down there today too that Lenny Hayes is considering a coaching position under Ross Lyon should Simon Lloyd get a senior role at the end of the year.
