I know this is probably for the other thread but worth a mention.

Hold off on the number 5 jumper. Give it to Martin if/when he debuts. He would have earned it.

I'm all for playing Martin. Whispers going round though that he's not getting a game because he's made it known he intends to play elsewhere next season. I've been a big supporter of the cause but not so sure right now.

My comment was a little tongue in cheek.

It would be sad to see him move when he hasn't been given a reasonable crack. Especially with our efforts this year.

Well he got a few games last year and was a bit unconvincing.
This year perhaps the club got word he was shopping himself around and thought poorly of it.
Still we need him, no point suffering ourselves to spite him.

We agree at last Gault has looked good in the 2's this year and is one of the best blokes on the side I would be over the moon if he got a game this year. He is 199cm and 96kg I would like to see him have a big pre-season next year and be ready to go round one. He could be the player we need to eventually replace Leigh Brown
 
We have been in the 8 all year and should be aiming to stay there no matter what. Only play players who have earn talk spot. Having said that I can't work out why Martin hasn't had a game yet. He is the one who needs a chance. Broomhead was all at sea in his short stay in the seniors but has earnt a recall you would think. Gault and Karnesis haven't done enough yet. Keep performing at VFL level and hopefully if he does Gault will keep a spot for 2015.

Reid and Fasalo hopefully can play senior footy before the year is out. Add those 2 and Elliott to the forward line and we may be a different proposition. This year is even and any team that hits the finals in form can collect at least a few wins. Season 2014 looks bleak on the last few weeks form but isn't over for the Pies yet.

I am actually a fan of his, but I fail to see the similarities.
He's half the size and much more mobile and much more injury prone, (although hopefully that's oats him).
What am I missing?

Similar height and frame and play the same position. Hawkins was much maligned right up until the just before the 2011 finals series. He was close to not making it. He was given a long time in that Geelong forward line until he broke out. Gault hasn't even debuted but shown enough promise.
Not saying Gault is the next Hawkins but there is enough to work with for him to make it .

Yeh been injured and been back for 2-3 games now. Looked pretty handy.
First year Gault had big wraps on him kicked a bag of 5 or 6 in one game early on.

Unfortunately I have been busy over the past 3 weeks, between playing and coaching it can be hard to get to as meany VFL games as I would like
 
So seems like most of you agree with me, but what will happen at the selection table won't be as extreme as most of us want.
Kinda frustrating, players like Ball, Blair and Toovey are on thin ice, not their fault, the game is racing past them and we have such talent waiting in the VFL.

I have liked Heritier's season, the quiet achiever, he has been a consistent performer, carrying the half back line all season.
Wouldn't mind seeing Goldy join him back there, I miss having Goldy do the kick ins. He would do the roaming half back role better than anyone with his closing down speed, get on that Bucks, dunno why he is played forward so much, his mentality is too defensive.

It's like survivor, except the ones that vote you off are the coaches.
How much more of this mediocre footy that some of our seniors are dishing up will Bucks take until he gives kids a proper chance to settle in the 21.
2010 we had guys like O'Bree and Lockyer running around in the VFL all season, gotta give credit where credit is due, Malthouse isn't afraid of dropping seniors for kids that are demanding selection.
Like, I think Luke Ball is a fantastic footballer, but this game is so fast, everyone has to be freaking fast, otherwise if you're slow, then you are a passenger. He was never fast anyway but he was a lot quicker 2 years ago than he is now.
Time stops for no man, except when you die, then time sorta stops for eternity....... damn you time.

I'd get as many games as possible into Kennedy, Broomy and Martin yes. I'd also persist with Keeffe and select Karnezis when fit.

Armstrong, nah.

I'd also be tempted to give Gault one game alongside Cloke instead of White, if we are cooked before year's end.

Talked to Chris Connoly about the future of the pies. Said if the youngsters progress the rate they are going, they will be a contender in a couple of years.

Really excited about the team. Young players like Frost and Langdon are the future, just the consistency has not been there from the other young players. The thing that these players have to learn is how to finish off a team. The only complete performance all year has been against the Saints.

Can't see Buckley making any changes with this flawless team. So... no, Broomhead and Martin will not get a game.
