Gwilt is 188 tall . I have watched in horror as my team made him line up on Gorilla's

Dempster one of the best KPDs over the past few years is only 191cm. I dont think it as much on exact height rather then how the player actually plays. Gwilt is not a KPD though, he doesn't play like one.

Your right he isnt a KPD, however has been used like that before and unfortunatly will have to be played like that again due to Essendons list. Hes also very restrictive like Dawson is. Hes basically a Gibson size but with Dawsons ability with skills, foot and decision making.

How big are Morris? Gibson? Theyve played above their weight before as had Brown all played KPD at points and that GWS guy from Brisbane (Argh Patful the name came to me finally).

Patfull = 189
Gibson = 189

188+ you can be a KPD. Though you would probably be better as the third defender. That is if you know how to play there. One thing height doesn't determine either is arm reach. As a defender, spoiling is important.

Daniel Howe anyone? There's a spot there in the hawks defence with Lake going out and he ripped it up in NAB1. Obviously not a like for like swap with Lake but the Hawks have said they may fill the gaps with runners. If he churns out a few more performances like that could he be in the mix for round one? Would he be able to crank out scores like that in a real game?

Reckon more a suckling replacement and if he gets selected round 1 I reckon will sneak in my team.

The cheapest def that has some scoring ability.

Though, the next couple of Hawks games will see how they see him for this year

True haha forgot they lost suckling as well. Just makes it more likely he could get a look in Round 1. I currently have him in my team, if he gets selected and can do what he did in NAB1 he will be an absolute gold mine. Another one at an awkward price though

I would not say that at all. His kick suffered after his ACL , but he may still get back to where he was.
Lets see a video of Dawson doing this.

At least 70

He would be a lock if he could do that. He did look composed today for a young KPD.

Watching him play though, I have this feeling he will average in the fifties.

He is similar to H. Taylor in reading the play/role and his best ever average was 78.7.

I can easily see him average more then that if he plays a role like J. Gibson moving forward. Not this year.

I honestly just can't see the average maintained over his first season.

A 50 average won't get you much bang for your buck either

I see what you mean, but it also looks like he will have incredible job security and that matters for something as well

Also ball should be in Carltons defence a fair ammount

At training do you know what role he is playing? will he be playing the third tall? ie. Bypassing KPFs that will tear him a new one (As a young KPD). If he is playing more loose/Intercept marker, could give a good investment. ie. The Gibson/E.Wood role

I haven't personally seen him at training but that is my understanding of how he will play. I think we'll play Jaimson, Rowe and Weitering as tall defenders and Weitering will take the third tall role.

Yep absolutely, was part of the rat-pack last year and his football seeemed to suffer, now definitely looks back at his best
has Cannon McKenzie worked his way onto anyone elses radar? 287K
that leg is real weapon...
Impossible not to consider at the price, but he will be dropped at the first sign of returning to bad habits... Buyer beware
