Hes having a preseason only players could dream of. Its like he has beengiven new lungs for Christmas. Just to put it into perspective he usually would finish around 10th in time trials. At the moment hes the dominant number 1 at the club ahead of fitness freak crowley. Ive never seen such an improvement before. Apparently the reason is he trained high altitude in boulder in the off season when he wasnt picked to go by the club did it on his own back.

Hes in the Duncan, Libba, Crouch category and Jaegar for me.

I thought hed be a forward back in november and hes one i had absolutly locked away.

Will play midfield with his new tank

Isn't he winning the time trials because all the good runners are banned?
I wouldn't have thought beating Crowley who's 30+ and hasn't played for a year is much of an achievement.

Alot of the best marathon runners in the world are 30+ age isnt really a determi i g factor. Remember crowley trained bloody hard to be available for the last 2 finals last year he wouldve been doing pure running aswell. He also was signed by swan districts to start training with them as preseason kicked off in November/December.

Fremantle had an elite running group with Crowley, Palmer, Mzungu and Fyfe he was right up there with them if not one of the best.

Zaharakis has gone past guys such as Will Hams who was probably in the top 5 or 3 for the 3km time trials.

Stanton would be the only one beating him from the group banned id say. We lost Kavanagh and Obrien who were better runners.

He also seems to be going pretty well compared to Ambrose who was beating stants last year

Kerridge looked awesome game 1. Looked as good if not better than anyone else out there really.

Awkwardly priced is the only problem. I reckon if he was 250k or less would be a lock. I reckon in fantasy will be fairly unique.

On another note, 1 word Mills.

Yeh im still going to wait and see on Kerridge but another 2 performances like that and its very hard not to pick him.

Im looking at a few guys around his price.

I agree though it is awkward hes going to require a trade as hes not a keeper for me as a fwd dont think he can get 90+ but hes priced at 300k so hes probably not going to make that much money.

Im still not sure if stepping stones are worth it. Will be interesting to see what rookies there are that coukd determine alot as always.

Callum Mills at $227K sounded good in nab1. So did Luke Parker($530K). Mitch Robinson had a good end to 2015 and seems to have found himself a niche at Brisbane. He is $504K and a DPP.
T Mitchell looks good, bit pricier than Parker but we know he can pig it up...

Didn't he have 64 touches in the NSWFL just before he came back? He scored 132, 138, 142, 163 and 89 in his last 5 fantasy rounds. Certainly a player I'd want but with the $10m cap I may not be able to fit him in yet.

Something absurd like that yeah. To be perfectly honest I'm not a seasoned veteran who monitors the games and knows how to spot the hidden gems but DT Talk writing "can't see a reason to pick him" just seems like an inside joke that everyone but me is in on

Whered they say that?
I'm not 100% sure but I think a match summary for the game on the weekend recommended taking JPK instead, even though iirc Mitchell scored better, JPK is 20k more, Mitchell has a higher ceiling

Not to mention JPK specifically earmarked in the media for more forward time on a flank

The reason is his disposal is very sub par and a lot of disposals dont actually impact the game.

Without the vest though, chances are he will play every game. Last year he was dropped and subbed but you would think he would want to take the game by the scruff of the neck this year

I guess it determines how you read into those things like Kennedy playing more forward. IMO every midfielder in the comp is saying the same thing.

Hint: Check TOGs for the game aswell

With mids, the lower rotations mean there will be players resting forward.

I think a number of mids from a few teams will rotate forward.

Potentially could be be good for Fantasy if a player can snap a goal resting. Bad if they rest more often then normal though

Yeh thats what im saying.

Something im trying to wrap my head around and cant is. Does it favour the players who heavily come to the bench and ultimatly spent less time on the ground last year compared to other similar positioned players.

Ie: Martin and Steven didnt have big TOG % last year.

Or does it favour the guys who have the bigger tanks and have higher TOGs already? Eg: Blicavs, Goldy, Hanneberry ect those guys that can run all day

Also some of the mids with low TOGs I don't think would be ad damaging forward when resting. Where as someone like Parker/Fyfe could easily rack up points In the forward 50.

I reckon we will see a few players rise/fall in the rankings this year. It actually puts a completely new dynamic on the game and squad selection.

For me Kerridge is a lock. His 2013 numbers when he played 10 games were pretty good, with top scores of 118 and 126, so the kid can go big. Looked good in NAB 1 and would have gone well over 100 with normal game time at the rate he was going. Should get much more opportunity at Carlton as well. Im predicting he will make a decent amount of coin early on.

Forgot this was the midfield page, personally think he is better as a forward option.

I heard that with Bird going out that he could be handed some run-with roles. Do you think it will happen?

Bird leaving won't affect him. Bird was playing ressies last year.

Mitchell played some run with roles and got dropped to improve aspects of his game that, for a potentially future elite mud needed work.

Mitchell run with roles is not that bad for DT, cause he can find his own ball as an inside mid.
