Ok all homework done and below is what I think we should do..

Pick 18-Sympkin
Why?
The class and football smarts are what we are all about -speed and goal kicking 184cm best available

Pick 29-Rotham
Why?
193cm Half back who creates and links so well will suit our game style and could hold down a key post in a few years

Pick 50-Himmelberg
Why?
196cm now will end up close to 200cm raw huge long arms (think Fletcher) could become a key forward or back

Pick 75-Guelfi
Why?
185cm I was in Perth this year and saw him play senior football he is fast clever and has a football brain kicks it like Gilbee low direct and flat.
Is my smoky of the year just hope we get him and believe Rotham and Guelfi are best mates :-)

Rookie
Olango
Why?
201cm Ruckman Could be anything even a key CHB moves well

Romesky
Why?
Local boy who does everything right good size at 190cm cam play forward or back

Josh Hannon is someone i hope will get drafted.
Rippa kid that can play footy
Height: 197cm
Weight: 81kg.

My ideal selections:

18 - Simpkin
26 - Battle
50 - Long (pending availability), Maibaum
75 - Romensky

or

18 - Hayward
26 - Gallucci
50 - Duman, Sproule (pending availablity)
75 - Kirby

And would like us to rookie Larkey, as a tall swingman, and to bid on Allison at 50 if available.

I have NFI for 50 and 75, but my preferred combinations at our first two at this stage:

Simpkin / Rotham
Ryan / Battle

Also don't mind Berry, Hayward and B. Cox.

Would prefer we stayed well away from Marshall and Gallucci. Not a huge fan of English but would be okay with picking him.

But I'm sure Dalrymple will pick two guys not even listed here that end up stars. :rainbow:

Asking Todd Marshall if he's got a gf huh

Thinking it was just a general question and not a suggestion we force players to breed for father sons ;)

Speaking of Todd Marshall - I'm warming up to him as a prospect. He's never going to be a big Tom Boyd type KPF (luckily we don't need him to be), but he's in the mould of a Cam McCarthy. Could really combine well with Boyd.

What people have to remember with Marshall is he hasn't played a lot of footy due to his cricket commitments and what footy he did play apparently he played as a midfielder so he still has a mountain of development left. Also something I found out recently was that he's had no preseason which I think has made a significant difference. He has the ability to play further up the ground with his ground level ability but hasn't been able to do it much due to his lack of endurance caused by no preseason.

Not entirely sure that's true. Has only really shown signs as a deep forward. I'm not a fan. Development can only take you so far, and his production simply hasn't been good enough to warrant first round selection, I believe.

I feel like if we drafted Marshall, we would be playing him down back from time to time in VFL to help fast track his development.

I know it's irrelevant to the Dogs, but I keep seeming to hear noise from Cal Twomey that Will Brodie will slide. Has talked about him falling out of top 3-5 consideration and has now suggested that he could be available for the Crows at 13.

I've heard that there are a few coachability concerns re: Brodie, particularly with respect to defensive work. Grain of salt though.

Just going off what the Bushrangers talent manager says about him, "He's grown rapidly in the last year – a lot of his junior development was as as midfielder – so he still has plenty of development as a big fella to go."

I'm not a big fan of him either, but like I said earlier in the thread I would consider him still. Whilst he had a fairly average year the lack of a preseason probably had a big impact on that.

Think you're mixing up English with Marshall

And apparently Essendon like players to spell things backwards.
It's actually not as weird as it sounds - it's a standard neuropsychological test designed to assess mental function (more specifically, concentration and attention). Some clubs use alternative versions too.
