How about this?

4th + 4th(Carl) + 4th(Syd) + 2nd + Hrovat ---> GWS
1st(Geel) ---> WB

Currently only rates Hrovat as pick 57, but that doesn't take into account that they'll only do it for a points gain, and the 1st from Geelong will probably move up from where it is now (can't see them finishing second).

We'd end up with two late first round picks.

Josh Battle + Jordan Sweet...

Then what take a punt with our fifth rounder? Another late Dalrymple small I like his hit rate with them :D

Let Dal do whatever the **** he wants with the 5th rounder. Could possibly even keep one of the 4ths depending on where the picks all end up? Either way, let him go mining for gold.

Look at his hit rate with smalls late in the draft/rookie draft. It is incredible. Though Dalrymple has an awesome hit rate with everything so let him do as he pleases.

Maybe we can get bring one of Battle's team mates with him to the Kennel ;)

This happens more in the other thread and it's definitely not just you Captain, but can people stop trying to sell Hrovat off to the Giants and Suns? If he decides to leave (and Vital says he wants to stay, so good on Nath for his loyalty!), he will be nominating where he plays next year. Why on earth would he decide to move interstate to a club where he will probably still be a depth player? Before proposing a trade, everyone seems to only think about whether the clubs would agree to it, but the players need to agree to it as well.

Yeah fair call. Totally just spitballing. My rationale was that we'd want to get one of the picks GWS or Gold Coast want to offload, and Hrovat a) has value, b) has had interest from them, and c) is surplus to our requirements. We'd need a player to get it done and he fits the bill more than most. But of course there's other stuff to take into account, like his wishes.

I feel like you've got someone in mind, but I can't work out who...

Wait, I got it. Fowler!

Yeah that looks right I think. I had it wrong before it looks like, so my points will be a bit off.

15 - Joshua Battle (192cm 2nd tall Fwd)
33 - Mason Blakey (182cm balanced mid/defender)
61 - Lloyd Meek (201cm ruck/forward)
69 - Brodie Romensky (189cm big bodied mid/defender)
70 - Sam Fowler (169cm small forward)

I would be happy with that with what I know so far. But surely Battle is gone before he gets to us.

Don't be surprised if he isn't imo especially if the AFL don't back flip on Marshall.
I really goddamn hope so, he looks perfect for us so far. Also lucky is that Essendon and Fremantle will have super high picks and may think of him as too much of a reach.

I doubt Freo would consider a KPF a reach anywhere, they have been crying out for one for years. Earlyish pick could be their best opportunity. With Fyfe around they may just dip as well, could avoid a full rebuild.

Then they will take Marshall who is a No.1 forward rather than Battle who is a No.2.

Freo need a lot of things imo and can't stop a rebuild

26 touches is huge for Korewha, he's hard to place. I wonder what role they have him playing at the moment. McGrath 44 touches and 19 tackles is massive. Henry must have a decent leap if he's being used as a second ruck, tackles and disposal numbers suggest he works hard. Drew good numbers for an inside/clearence type.

In 2 years time;
Stringer 24 years old & 192cm
Crameri 29 years old & 190cm
Dickson 30 years old & 184cm
Boyd 22 years old & 200cm
McLean 22 years old & 180cm

Leaves room for a few different types of forwards..smalls, talls & forward/rucks
Not a fan of Redpath playing when Boyd is, just both too slow to put on the forward pressure that our side is renowned for

Duman getting a fair bit for a young 193cm wingman lately too.

Blakey played a real good game considering the knight got beaten by 99 points.

Henry came 3rd at the National level at the Decathlon so imagine he is a special type of athlete.

Romensky has a very good running VJ so he can third man up a fair bit hence his hitouts.

Sounds like you'd like Henry or Frank as a second tall.
