Took me a while to realise it was the audio from the star wars trailer lol. interesting, not as intense as id have liked a hype clip to be, but i like that theyre trying something different
Not sure it's an official one??

Hoping it won't be shit next time around?

If it was shit, i'd have noticed it in one of my earlier screenings. Instead it's really good, and lo and behold, the people in it can act.

Or you are blinded by the Millenium Falcon, light sabers and original cast members showing up en-masse ... I just wish they would leave the Star Wars Universe alone and find something new to play with. If you are just going to pump out the same stuff over and over, why bother? Either get a new angle or leave it be. Batman is a good example, at least The Dark Knight didn't try and sugarcoat the Joker.

Don't even start me on Batman vs. Superman, worlds collide my arse. That thing is going to be awful. Suicide Squad - maybe. Dead Pool - hopefully.

Star Wars - missed an opportunity IMO - sure it was better than the horrific 1,2,3 but it could have been so much more.

They had to do a new Star Wars film that stuck very close to episode 4 so that fans would rebuild their trust, which had mostly been destroyed by the sequels.

Saw it for a second time last weekend - it's a very satisfying film.

No, Glenno hit the nail nicely on the head.

This is my area of study and basically Hollywood needs to make a guaranteed return on their huge investments. In order to do that one of the easiest ways is to start with something that is familiar to an audience out there already.

There is your guaranteed first amount of dollars coming in with those people as you can count on them attending during the first two weeks and creating a 'buzz' that will pull other people in who are not as familiar with the subject of the movie.

Most film distributions with cinema chains have the majority of the money coming back to the studios for those first two weeks, as the Studios are also the distributors. Lovely vertical integration going on here. After that it is a slightly more even split with the cinema (but still heavily weighted in the Studios favour).

Batman vs Superman will be horrible purely because of Zach Sndyer. Deadpool is a perfect case study of how to market a film brilliantly. It is quite an obscure character and the marketing is already letting the audience know who are not familiar with him that he regularly breaks the fourth wall, so when it happens in the movie, it won't be a shock. Seriously brilliantly marketing going on for that film. Also most advertising budgets for Hollywood movies cost more than the actual movie itself.

Absolutely.

Deadpool has always been one of my favourite comic characters - they seem to be doing it right, and Ryan Reynolds seems like the perfect amount of cocky douche :-)

Pity his 'Australian' accent is a kiwi one ;) Love the guy behind the camera who can't hide the laughter when the hat bit happens. Ryan Reynolds was born to be Deadpool.

So after watching that video, I am itching for the new season to start. And I really want to watch Star Wars again!!
