Could go a heap of ways mate but I'm not ruling it out. If no one bids on Bowes before GCs first pick then it will be very unlikely, but if they do and GC lose pick 4, then it could definitely happen. I'd say Brodie would be the best chance to land at Carlton out of those 3.

Heres 2 ways Brodie could land at Carlton assuming Essendon take McCluggage at 1.

Essendon 1. McCluggage
Brisbane 2. SPS - due to link with club and outside need
Freo 3. Todd Marshall, Tim English - If SPS isnt there I cant see them taking another mid. English/Marshall fills a massive void in their list.
GC 4. Will Brodie - Could jump early on someone like Ainsworth or McGrath but it seems likely that theyd go the next best option and take Brodie, using later picks to secure the bid on Bowes that comes.
Carlton can then take Ainsworth, McGrath, etc.

Essendon 1. McCluggage
Brisbane 2. Bid on Bowes which is matched. Gold Coast lose their first live pick.
Brisbane new pick 3. SPS
Freo 3. Todd Marshall, Tim English
Carlton Pick 4. Will Brodie.
I can see Fremantle trading in a few kpp in turn they'll go for sps if still there or Bowes Brodie mccluggage I think carlton could well go for ainsworth but you just never know

I think Ainsworth is most likely for Carlton and suits them the best. A bit of x-factor up forward + the added ability of playing midfield. Very impressive with his stints in the midfield this year. Its added a whole new dimension to his game.

Big numbers aren't they but I do worry about how much of his own footy he is winning. Do you know the amount of contested possessions he gets. Last thing we want is a polac, toumpas or an aish. I think aish had some like only 27% of cp in his under 18 year. Massive warning bells IMO but personally unsure of McCluggage numbers.
Not 100% sure mate but pretty sure I saw somewhere that its somewhere in the 40%-50% range. I have my doubts on his contested ball winning too and worry that he may find it hard to translate his game to AFL level. He sometimes seems to try and avoid contact but that could just be me misreading the play. However, hes ability to consistently kick goals from the midfield while racking up the possessions is too good to ignore. I think hes moved himself into the number 1 position now.

just updated my power rankings and more so my top 20. You'll notice that I've moved Atley into my top 10. Completely sold on this kid, massive fan.
I will focus more on getting the 20-50 range set over the next few weeks as I feel a lot of it is still up in the air.

Few decision will most likely surprise you so I'm keen to hear your feedback.

Also in your phantom draft - if Gold Coast match pick 2 (2517 points + 20% discount so 2013 points) for bowes with pick 4 (2034 points) they'll still hold melbourne's pick 8

Zero chances of Gold Coast not matching a bid for him though, no matter where he's called.
I never said they wouldn't but they could believe pick 2 is too high for Bowes they could rate him at 8. My point was Brisbane should bid on him at 2 and if the bid fails it would still be a win because they would get the local boy rated in the top 10 and was rated the best player in the draft at the start of the year

Plan A = Bowes at 2
Plan B = SPS at 3

Battle went absolutely bezerk today! 6 goals with one long bomb from 50 out. Kid is doing his first round chances no harm.

Worthy of port's pick 9? Just seems way too early for my liking!
Hard to say if hes worthy yet, but its unlikely you guys take him there. I'd say Marshall is a better chance at 9.

So at the moment this is how my top 10 is looking in a more condensed, up to date format:

1. McGrath- Absolute jet. Composed, fast, agile, leader. Too good to pass up
2. Setterfield- Tall midfielder who is smart through traffic, agile and good skills. Has very similar attributes to 'The Bont'. Had an injury interrupted season, and if not for this, I'd probably have him rated higher. A lot to like about him
3. Taranto- Super dangeroud forward and accumulates the ball through the midfield, impacting with every possession
4. SPS- Crazy how similar he can look like Rioli at times. Skillful, evasive and classy. Never panicks with the ball and finds the best option, all while dancing through traffic with ease.
5. Ainsworth- As dangerous as they get. Reads it well in the air and is an extremely good mark, contested or on the lead.
6. McCluggage - Stats are amazing, but still have my doubts. Cant see him falling past pick 3 though. Should be a good player
7. Brodie- Probably the best pure inside mid of the draft. Does the hard work consistently and gets the job done. Like him a lot.
8. Perryman- Just a pure footballer. Whatever job you give him, he'll get it done. Great skills and footy brain, without being extremely athletic. Doesnt effect him though.
9. Scrimshaw - Probably the most versatile and skilled player in the draft. Could be anything with more work on his inside game
10. Bowes - Pendlebury-like with the ball. Classy player, but has dropped a bit in my rankings compared to where he was early in the season

Logue at 11, just missing out on the top 10. Extremely determined and versatile player.

I see more Daniel Wells in SPS, his record does not show him personally hurting you in scireboard, something Cyril thrives in

Jarrod Berry?
What about him? Currently sitting at 18 on my power rankings, but may change. Definitely a player who can excel at the next level and be considered as one of the best from this years draft
