I know it's preseason etc and we love to discuss things.

But quite frankly, I don't care.

I don't care:

Which FA's we target

If Carlisle will behave

Who we trade

Who we delist

Who'll break out

When my membership pack arrives

What's included with my membership

Player ceilings

Who we draft

When Freeman gets on the park...

I'm just gonna enjoy the journey and watch our young ones develop into something special.

For this 47 year tragic, round 1 can't come quick enough.

No point worrying about what might be.

Get excited!

I don't care (a sort of rhyming poem on 2016, adapted from the post by VDS66):
Which players join the team
If Carlisle's nose is clean
Who Ameet swaps
Who Richo drops
Which players will stop being crap
When I get my scarf or cap
The colour of the bumper sticker
The level of our players' ticker
Which newbies join our motley gang
Or whether Nathan's hammies twang

I want to see what picture this season paints
And spend it following our beloved Saints

Yep so keen. I've just bought tickets, so I'm flying to Adelaide to catch the game!! $40 for Level 1 Row B tickets. Absolutely unreal.

Aren't you worried that you will lose your cat or step in water in your socks and miss the start of the round one match?

I'm thinking 2003 all over again... well, hoping anyway.

Time to buckle up and enjoy the ride... anticipation is half the fun etc etc...

Ahhh 2003... 11 year old me finally learns what it's like when the Saints play well.

That Heritage game against the Tigers was beautiful, and the G-Train game against North, and beating the Lions.

So maybe half way through the season Delaney gets moved to full fwd and starts kicking shitload of goals:)
All aboard The D-Train:p

I agree! I don't care either about the first 10 items you mentioned. I have zero input to any of them.

Your last 4 lines are spot on.

The real negative in not playing yesterday is not being able to make a comparison to other games I've watched recently. The Dees and Dogs look deeper and better and I'm starting to wonder if we are going to be able to match it with anyone but Essendon and carlton now. I'm officially worried now and it's the AFLs fault. ****ing douche bags. Maybe don't put games in the tropics with out a back up plan.

Someone close to me always says..."it's too soon to panic!" (But then again, they aren't a Saints supporter)

It's been mentioned by others on other threads and I agree with them - I think we're a couple of a grade mids and a couple of decent flankers away from a really good quality side, (and probably a key position player who can swing).

Remember the Dogs started before us and got lucky with a couple of father sons and a priority pick that nailed them both Stringer and Macrae - picks 5 and 6 whereas we got the Goddard pick when we were mid table.....if it was a year later then we would have had pick 3 and 4 which would have helped tremendously, in hindsight Billings and Bontempelli maybe?

The Dees, well, they've had lots of lots of draft picks and I would expect them to be ahead of us.

I'm comfortable that we'll win 6-9 games this season and will probably end up with somewhere between pick 4-7 in the draft. I think we're better than Essendon, Carlton and Brisbane easily and then its a lottery with Melbourne and the others. It will also come down to the draw. We've got 4 games in the bank as we play both Essendon and Carlton twice remember...

Grab a gun with our 1st pick, a free agent maybe or a decent trade and we're looking even better still....

I keep thinking back to the club's master plan where we said 2015 was going to be rubbish, a slight improve in 2016 and then 2017 would be where we start to announce ourselves. It's no coincidence that in 2017 a lot of our younger players who we all think will be quality players will have mostly played closer to 50 games and have had 3 pre seasons plus under their belts....

Now that could change this year if Billings, Ross, Newnes & Webster in particular lead the internal improvement with Lonie, Sinclair, Acres and Dunstan bringing up the rear with cameos from Longer and a couple of others....

I agree, I think we really need to address the mid field quickly, it just hurts when the only teams you can see being worse than you are Carlton who look like a drunk on rollerskates and Essendon who are paying for their own corruption. I reckon we need another 5 or so high quality mids and as you said that could come internally but realistically we need to start drafting some in as well. They Dogs best players have come from A grade drafting as well. Stringer, Mc crae and Bontempelli are great gets. We haven't found an absolute gun yet with Billings the best so far but we need a Chad Wingard, Bont or Cripps to fall in our laps. Just something to keep us motivated. No pressure Gresh. I reckon Brisbane are pretty hard to read they were decimated by injuries last year and after the first half of the season should come home strong.
