We'll just have to enjoy our Soylent Green.

Re second point: TBH, I'm horrified at the prospect of the future. The other aspect is the increasing number of foods that have been irradiated with ionising radiation, the effects on the chemical/physical properties of that food and the difficulty in identifying it. Quite simply, our food labelling standards are a joke. Problem is, so much apathy out there ....
couldn't care less........

Call me mad but I'd take both Rayner and Fogarty if available.

There are many ways to get MID's - trade (Kennedy), draft (Cripps), FREE Agent (Rockliffe) once we are seen as contenders.

"Point of Difference" players (like Charlie C) are much harder to come by and I reckon grab them while you can - worry about the "meat and potatoes" later.

I dunno if you can call any of LDU, Dow or Cerra meat and potatoes players as they all have traits that are elite, and they all have the ability to turn a game one way or another. There's still room to significantly improve their games to the point they become elite players in their own right.

It's all about getting a balance with our selections too. We need midfielders desperately and Rayner doesn't fit that mould in the short-term and may not in the long-term either. His ceiling is somewhat overstated until we see what he can do at AFL level, which unfortunately we can't do before the draft. It's entirely possible he'll be blanketed at AFL level.

With that in mind I can see the wisdom in taking a pure mid you can slot in and develop at 3 and then take an X-factor type at 10 (Fogarty, Coffield, Stephenson, Bonar).

I'm really liking the options at 30 as well. Ballard is a gun waiting to happen; L. Fogarty looks like a good pick; Ling and Stoddart may be available here too. We'll likely get a good spread of talent.

I'm hoping Freo take Naughton at 5, which will roll a genuine gun onto our pick.

I'll take it one step further.....you're certifiable.

Agreed - I'm with you here
As much as i love x factor players, my preference is we skip rayner and go:
#3 dow/ ldu - we just need a speedy mid
#10 fogarty/ clark - x factor or speed
#30 kelly or any players with speed & foot skills

Just add those 3 to our best 22 and suddenly our team has good speed :-)

FMD, imagine you Guys trying to agree on what pizza to order...

Jimmae: "The pineapple is GMO, so let's skip that, thanks."
Arrow: "There is no evidence that GMO ingredients cause any harm."
Jimmae: "Yeah, but if a log falls in a forest and there is nobody there to hear it, does it make a sound?"
Harker: "Listen up, Knuckle-Heads, I want three kinds of meat on mine, and don't be stingy with the vino either :).
Justabattler: "The pH level of the flour is not inversely proportional to the standard deviation shown in the normative analysis of the Facebook likes for this place, so I ain't paying, pretty sure."
BMaurizio: "We should order the pizza di Venezia alla Parmigiana con prosciutto, manzo ed arancio."
Thylacine60: "No, let's get the dumpling pizza, and they better not take more than 5 minutes, FFS ."
Ferrisb: "Hey, Thylacine60, go take a dumpling." :p
BMaurizio: "Now that I think about it, we should get the pizza di ricotta con melenzana, cervello e' finocchio instead."
PrinceCharles: *crack*
Aph: "You idjiots. Told you we shoulda gone Greek."
Jimmae: "Never trust a pizza maker whose torso is not in proportion to his legs."
Man at pizza restaurant: "Sorry Guys, we are now closed."

It’s ridiculous just the same convo over and over. Nothing has changed, no ones played a game, no one has done anything bad. Fml

A question for those in the know...

Looking at the Youtube clips (I know, but it's all I have to go on unfortunately), both Cerra and Clark's TAC Cup highlights look fantastic, but their Championships highlights look much less impressive.

Would that be a fair reflection, that their TAC Cup footy was much better than their Championships footy? Or is it just the skew of the highlights packages?

Bit of both, main aspect though, they were thrown around to play different positions

Unfortunately there were a lot of kids at this years U18 Champs that didn't have a 2nd position, which meant players such as Cerra & Clark spent extended periods at HF, HB and on the bench to give others a go through the guts. Worpel, Brayshaw, Parish & North are examples of those that didn't have the ability to be used anywhere but in the midfield.

you talking about him in the past, he has a brother, he has a relative, this guy is completely unrelated, the spelling is different?

I think the Dusty and Rayner comparisons are way off the mark.
Dusty in his draft year was a full time midfielder who had no issues running out games. You still had some pundits saying that he would struggle at the next level as a mid at that size.
How will Rayner fair if he can't do it at TAC level? I love his talent but he needs to be more than a half forward to hold more value than Cerra, LDU, Dow or even Brayshaw for mine.

But Dusty struggled to run out games until recently.

His endurance and longevity in games were an issue until a couple of years ago

So basically to summarise this thread we all picked our preferred options a month ago and have all switched up many times . There is one choice we will make and we will all rejoice that we got the best player and then the AFL website will redo the 2017 draft in 2014 and go shit we could have done better, but we will be happy as we will argue that he is a worthy top 10 as he’s now played 142 games, is a leader and a premiership player and we picked him on character and aggression. So we trade him for 2 first round picks due to our surplus requirements to a languishing st Kilda and start the process again.

So I ask who is he ?
