Definite starters from my current team:

Treloar - had him since round 1 this year, will have him in from round 1 next year. Gun.
Dangerfield - took me way too long to get him in, left so many points on the table. Won't happen again.
Docherty - absolute lock for the backline
Gawn - bearded stud
R Gray (if forward) - don't want to really go Port premos but hard to go past him particularly if he has DPP

No chance next year:
Vince - went full potato in the 2nd half of the year
Wingard - when he goes shit it hurts me as a Power fan and as a Supercoach player
Montagna - not my worst player but pretty consistently a potato since I trade him in. Reckon he'll get worse with age

Bloody harsh on Joey there. Finished with 6th highest FWD average, didn't miss a game, and only put in 1.5 horrendous performances. Maybe not a lock next year due to getting on a bit, but he was bloody good for his owners this year when you consider the carnage that was Deledio, Hall, Dahlhaus, Barlow and to a lesser extent Wells. The worst time to trade him in would have been Rd 11, and he still averaged well over 90+ after that, so don't know what the hell you're saying with potato.

And if you started with him at $600k you shouldn't be playing the game, so it can't be that.

I might pick Yeo next year.
Looks to be the sort of player who will consistently do the opposite of what is expected.
I will pick him expecting him to be shit. Therefore he will be awesome.
Don't do it man, just don't...absolutely killed me this year.

+ 1

I had Yeo the year before and he was hopeless! Burn man!!!!! :fire::fire::fire::fire:

Just too up and down like a yo yo. :drunk:

When he scores bad he kills you and costs you games like throwing in a 29 or something like that.

Was taking the piss a bit but he definitely seemed to underperform when I needed him, particularly when I traded him in at the expense of Dahlhaus who I felt performed way more consistently.

I do think he'll drop of with age though, genuinely.

Yeo will never change simply because he's dumb.

Laird, Shaw, Vince

Pendles, Bontempelli, Cripps, Fyfe, Beams

Sandilands

Gray, Liberatore, Dahlhaus

Want to work around a structure like this. Rucks are going to be interesting next year, don't want to pay that much for Gawn.

Is Montagna likely to gain any status as a defender? Would probably go there if he does. Hopefully I can stay away from Rockliff and avoid getting burnt for the 3rd year in a row.

Played predominantly in their backline this season so I would assume that this is a real possibility.

Agreed he had a small spell of spud scores that worried me for a bit but in the end I was happy I had him, he was solid enough for a fwd.
But watching him play I too think he's slightly showing some common signs of age producing softness/slowness - disposing of the ball prematurely rather than taking on his opponent or tackler etc. Another player I'm really noticing this type play lately is Mark Lecras, looking a touch ordinary/reserved/panicky in contested situations of late.

Both possibly given their prices
I'd be willing to see where Starlow is played and his role, only then would I consider.
He's non starter for me.

Hall interests me, he has a game for SC and seems to be improving every week.
If he's a Mid/Fwd priced at 515- 530k odd he'd have to be a lock surely.

Still liking GAJ. With Prestia and JOM gone and possibly Swallow as well there will be plenty of points for our old mate Gaz.
Heard he had the extra tight operation done this time around, love to see him play for 2 more years, miss watching him so much though Danger has filled the void in his absence.

Danger, Cripps, Treloar, Fyfe, Rockliff, Gaj

My starting 6 no injuries in preseason

Prepared to go ultra cheap in fwd and def D2, F2 etc..

I liked having at least 3 premos up back and 3 up forward along with 4 premo mids and 2 premo rucks.

Its the setup I went with this year and thought it worked pretty well. :thumbsu:
