Collingwood VFL, #TeamBatman
While we wait for the home and away fixture for the VFL to land (some time this day or this week... has Balme taken a job at AFL Victoria as well...?), the club has announced the VFL Magpies practice match calendar:

COLLINGWOOD VFL PRE-SEASON

MATCH 1
Saturday 11 March
Collingwood v Geelong
Holden Centre, 11:30am

MATCH 2

Friday 24 March
Collingwood v Footscray
Holden Centre, 4:15pm

MATCH 3
Thursday 30 March
Richmond v Collingwood
Punt Road Oval, 4pm

MATCH 4
Saturday 8 April
Collingwood v North Ballarat
Holden Centre, 12pm

Games #2 and #3 will act as off-Broadway warmup acts before the respective seniors matches against the Dogs and Richmond.

Unfortunately, game #1 on March 11th is a clash with the final JTL Series outing up in Moe. Bummer. Surely we can move this, for Dave's sake if nothing else...? (EDIT: Ah, we're drawn to play GWS at the HC on Sunday March 12th in the morning time slot, so that probably rules that out. We've got lights though, so a twilight game maybe...?)

Practice match schedule usually comes in the same day as the regular season draw, so hopefully that pattern repeats later today...

A womens (11am), VFL double header (2pm) would fix that. While the VFL would then clash with the netball across the road I don't think the cross over in crowd demographic would be sufficient to concern major issues.

Hopefully get to all of them but This Satuday is Impossible to get to see VFL Games and then get Back home to watch the JLTSeries:'(

Is the practice match time 100% locked in? I'm not sure if I'm free Saturday morning but I'm keen to go. With the seniors at 1:10 I'd just be going for a half.

I've been dutifully checking the fixture on the club website every day, just in case they have changed the date without telling us (*checks fixture while typing... no dice...*:()

I still think it would make the perfect encore for the women's team playing GWS on Sunday, but of course, the issue is would the HC have the space for 4 different teams from both genders? Probably not.

Shame.

Could listen on a transistor radio and then catch the replay when you get home?

Agreed. I'd love to go to a double header AFLW and VFL.

Logistically it could be too hard and lets face it, only a handful of us care about it enough to raise it as an issue. Even most of my interest the match is possibly getting to see Brown, McLarty, McCarthy, Lynch, Kirby, Mackie, and Wells in Collingwood colours for the first time. It would be good to see Sier for the first time in 2016 as well.

Even if they moved the game forward an hour I'd go for 3 quarters.

Well I was thinking of Recording the Game on Fox Footy and Follow the Scores on Here

So long as you limit the personal attacks to stray Richmond supporters...
