Berry, Smith, Rayner, Starcevich and (likely) McFadyen is an imposing set of big bodied midfielders. All explosive, athletic and agile too. Gonna be powerful at the contest, might get the luxury of having Zorks spend more time at half forward ahead of schedule if our current youth development output continues.

Looks like he’s just a stoic, composed kid to me. I’m sure some people will have a trademark freak out though.

Geez he looks a likely type on field.

Conole looked stoked.

I'm up at mums and on the local country news they showed some of the kids looking to be drafted. I pricked up interest when they showed and talked about Smith. I had no idea about him or that he was a country boy.

They (whoever the reporters were) thought he was going to be a really great pickup. Solid type, serious looking. Looked like he meant business.

Might not be totally at ease in the spotlight just yet. Probably just wants to play footy. Pleased with what I saw of him and not disappointed in his drafting to the Lions.

Welcome to the Lions Ely Smith Fantastic kid seems to have a great character Mick Ablett said he reminds him of Sam Mitchell
I don't think he meant physically, but in terms of being an extractor.

So the question now is how many picks can we get in before McFayden? Still have 33, 37 & 51.

Maybe we now try do some deals with WC. Both teams might be willing to drop back a bit for points for academy selections. They have picks 23 and 29 and have Cameron to come. They could take Hill, then slide 29 back and we could maybe move 35 up, maybe letting us sneak picks 29 and 30 in before McFayden.

Absolute poison place for comments ten times worse than here

That's the thing about social media. Everyone has an opinion and a voice now. I read through facebook comments & it reminds me of the old George Carlin quote, just think about how stupid the average person is, then realise half of them are dumber than that.

Who's going to be the first to crack under the pressure of live trades? Even though it's not as high stakes as other sports with drafts where high picks are worth an obscene amount and jobs depend entirely on getting the right player, surely someone's going to go a little crazy. Personally I hope Silvagni's been watching Draft Day in preparation and royally ****s it up somehow.
Wow he really did it too
