Surely we could of offered Barlow the same deal and Richa
One is the spiritual leader of the club and the other is a potential source of division. I wanted to be wrong about Barlow being delisted, but he's finished. His article where he catalogued his injuries proved it. Rischa, on the other hand, played all but 1 game and is at a level of form and fitness that warranted a testimonial season. When you throw in Harbrow and Hanley, that is enough 30+ players, although I wouldn't be opposed to players in the 27 to 30 age group being recruited because if Hall goes we won't have any guys in that age bracket at all, arguably the best years of a player's career.

Not sure Barlow's a source of division anywhere but on BF!!!LOL
If Riska had said he wasn't going on then Micky B would be going around again
Once Riska put his hand up it was curtains for the walking potato
It's a sad truth of any pro sporting organisation

Yeah I agree Barlow sets standards on field and off he's a leader and set high standards for the kids coming through on the training field can't say the same about rischitelli.

And to even suggest Barlow was potentially a source of division in the team is crazy what a moronic comment

I'm not suggesting that Barlow himself would cause trouble. It is more the issue of his selection/non-selection and how that gets blown up by the media. It may or may not have been a factor in his delisting.

Barlow saying on sen it was like banging my head against the wall every week when He didn't get picked.
Said dew wasn't open and honest with him.
He loved helping the kids in the neafl. He gave the kids a huge rap sounds like he had a big influence on Ballard said he going to be a star very hard worker

Tried to dodge the question about If Dew is a good coach and the right man for the job.
Said he needs to be more open and honest with the players

I think that's reasonable
If you start the year saying birth certificates and reputations were ripped up and performance was key, you then have to explain why performance isn't getting rewarded

We may not have been watching the same number 35 this year
The one I saw had no time and was Shanky McShanker

Dew has issues dealing with the hard discussions and avoids conflict hence his distance with Barlow and not telling Micky why he wasn't picking him creating distance between them especially when Mick would front Stewie for an answer

sound like he's babying the players just like Bluey did this won't end well for Dew if he doesn't man up

That's not Mick's problem- that's Stuey's
And the smoke signals suggest there were similar issues with Brodie early doors and Scrimshaw
It's interesting because (although I might be reading too much into it) I thought the differentiation between say Rocket and Dew was the modern coach communication chestnut

This is pure conjecture on my part, no supporting evidence, no link to a stat sheet, and no inside word from my brother's mechanic — but I just know it to be true.

I reckon there'd be seventeen other list managers in the league that would cast an eye over our list and find a one year deal for Barlow. They'd then turn around and have a quiet word with Rischa, 'mate I think you've given all you have, here's your watch'.

Yeah- on form and value I'd have Barlow.
He's a talker, an on-field director and still gets the ball
But Riska is a Foundation Sun with a lot of goodwill as 17er said
I'm just surprised he actually wants to go around again

Oh for sure, it'd be a gold watch [emoji6]

I just seem to recall the Club had to work on him to get him to play this year- so why he'd front for 2019 is a mystery
Maybe he was impressed by his own resilience this year- how the body held up and thinks he can squeeze another one out

So should we be concerned about Dew? If true that's a character trait that needs to be addressed for the good of the club.
Well he was billed as building great relationships when he came on board
It's easy to do that if you can be everyone's mate- which you can do as an assistant
But coaches like Clarkson and The Scott Bros obviously build relationships but you get the impression the players know exactly what's what with them
If you need to work harder and deeper into the defensive 50 I'm sure Clarkson will let you know
We've all cut him some slack as a year 1 coach but you can't avoid conflict if you're going to be successful
Jury's out

**** no, if this is correct we are ****ed. Communication is king, good, bad or ugly.
Ignoring people rather than having the hard discussion is a massive **** up. Nothing good can come from it
