Still got Sicily in my side but he is really worrying me.

Obviously he represents possible value as a player that went back to defence and averaged 93 after the bye last season (but priced to average 70 something). It has also been confirmed that he will play that same intercept role this season (and has DPP status).

My worry is that even if he has a couple of good weeks, coaches will send someone to play a defensive role on him. When that happened late last season, Sicily scored just 25! It's an obvious move for coaches to make as well as it not only nullifies Hawthorn's best interceptor but he also gives away frees and goals readily.

Clarko has the flexibility to throw him forward but:
(a) I imagine he will want him to learn to work through it
(b) Sicily averages about 55 as a forward anyway

Thoughts? Do I need to look elsewhere?

Im only going league win so seriously thinking about getting Grey with Rayner as coverage for the first week

Am I crazy??

If you're going for league win pick Gray and just have a normal cheap rookie fill in for him like Ryan. League matches don't start in round 1 so Robbie missing won't affect you

Yeah he seems like he might be pickett 2.0
Can't even find the ball in the WAFL, Carton took a punt on a exhigh draft pick and then Pickett got injured.
Game time fell in his hands.
Lock in if you reaaally need a FWD/MID.

Wingard under the radar. Averaged 98 twice in his career and went 93 last season with a knee issue that hampered him in the last 5 games of the season.

Playing more midfield these days and has gone 90+ 3 out of his 6 seasons. Port will be better this season which means more points.

Priced as the 6th best forward average-wise.

It's between Franklin, Greene and Wingard at this stage. Franklin will be a lower price at some point and is getting on in age. Greene is a flog and injury interrupted preseason. Wingard has had an injury interrupted preseason too but he's not a flog.

Can you tell I'm exhausting all possible avenues to try and find a half decent premium forward?

Playing predominately forward with spurts JN middle, like Gray. Pass

Out of that group wingard is pretty good. I think he'll go through the middle alot kind of like walters

Hasn't hampered him in the past with averages of 90+ 3 times though? Especially if Port are better and they kick bigger scores. He's quality with ball in hand

Not the best pick - expecting mid 50s - but Garlett is older and more experienced than Pickett was last year, and a better tackler than him too. Think it makes sense to say he has better JS than Fritsch or Langdon, although Darcy Lang is potentially into the side for Garlett soon. Fritsch is up against it, while it really depends on expectations of Langdon at GWS.

Reckon Garlett may be worthwhile as a slow burn at F8. Won't be surprised to see one of Fritsch/GL miss.

Inclusions of Rocky, Motlop and Watts put me off

We will have too many even scorers this year

Oh also great a bye for Wingard too. Especially with Menegola, Franklin, Heeney, Walters all sharing a bye.

Already locked in Heeney and Billings, but Greene and Wingard in specifically avoid the round 14 bye.

Langdon already confirmed, Fritsch played both JLT and they need to replace Watts somehow, no Tmac also helps
