This is the blacklist I’ve built up over the years;
Gary Rohan (2014)
Jarryd Roughead (2014)
Chad Wingard (2014)
Shaun Hampson (2014)
David Zaharakis (2014)
Grant Birchall (2014)
Tom Bellchambers (2014)
Shaun Burgoyne (2015)
Mathew Jaesnch (2015)
Brodie Smith (2015)
Taylor Hunt (2015)
Mathew Suckling (2015)
Michael Barlow (2016)
Sam Mitchell (2016)
Ollie Wines (2016)
Adam Treloar (2017)
Marcus Bontempelli (2017)
Mathew Jaesnch - black list in the same year he did his knee? Bit harsh....

Libba has been seen doing extras on the track, if he actually gives a crap this year he could be a good alternative to Coniglio.

Yeah but nah, Libbas best scoring days were before the Bulldogs success when he was pretty much a one man show as the contested extractor.
A lot changed at the Kennel over the last few years, improvement yes? SC stud? probably not.

Taylor Hunt says hi.

At least Hunt was only a stopgap for us.
Unfortunately for those two running fast doesn't make you a footballer.

Bont and Treloar burnt me last year. I’m doubtful on them this year. Particularly Treloar. But they’re both likely to come good again.
Had Treloar this year. Didn't hate him enough to trade out but he's frustrating.

He's 24. What are the chances he suddenly becomes something other than what he's been so far at the Pies, a good ball winner with iffy disposal? Can't see him being underpriced this year.

I've had him the last 3 years. Last year was the most frustrating by far. His stats were so similar to the last couple of years too, just seems like hole didn't have as much of an impact last year.
Should bounce back, especially if pies start to win a few more games. But I'm beginning to doubt that he'll crack that super-premo status I thought he would.

Won't start him this time round, but far from blacklisting him.

No chance

Average SC very good DT

Bont has gone 103, 107, 105. He’s a serious contender for the over 110 average.
Always had Bont but now is the first time I've had doubts.
Last season was two halves. 113.3 average pre-bye and 98.2 average post-bye.
Any chance he gets DPP again?? With the dearth of forwards he'd be a popular choice.
For me as a midfield, highly unlikely.

This is for DT, but I'm 99% sure we always start with the same DPPs, but they gain more throughout the year.

Yeo, Ellis, Hanley DEF
Gray, Boak, Mundy, Starlow, Menogola, Parish, BEASTMODE all FWDs

Setterfield stocks just rose a hell of a lot also.

...
Some of the most important members of your team are the dual-position players (DPPs). Often these guys are the midfielders who spend some time forward or back and historically, they have been some of the highest averaging players in their positions.

The only player available as a FWD in 2018 to average more than 100 points is Geelong’s Sam Menegola. He gained FWD status in round 12 this year and retains DPP status.

Michael Barlow will also be a MID/FWD following his addition last season. His former teammate David Mundy could be a relevant player in the new year as he is eligible to be selected in the forward line.

Another to add FWD status last season was Travis Boak and he will start the season as a DPP.

Young guns Rhys Mathieson, Darcy Parish and Will Setterfield will move up the Fantasy Draft rankings as MID/FWDs. While at the other end, veterans Daniel Wells, Kieren Jack and Dale Thomas are among some of the former Fantasy stars who have DPP status.

Some of the players eligible to be selected as DEF/MIDs include Pearce Hanley, James Aish and Paul Seedsman.

New year, new positions
West Coast's Elliot Yeo heads the list of players who have been given an all-new position for 2018. Now available to select as a defender, the 24-year-old started the season in tremendous fashion averaging 110 across the first eight rounds.

Fellow Eagle Liam Duggan played across the half-back and is now a defender.

Carlton's Liam Jones reinvented himself in defence and as such he can be selected as a DEF after being a Fantasy FWD for his career.

Daniel Rich, Jack Crisp, Bernie Vince and Brandon Ellis are also available as pure defenders.

Named as a MID last season and picking up FWD status in round six, Robbie Gray has been named as FWD only. Liam Picken and Jake Melksham are other interesting names that can be selected as forwards.

Midfielders only
With the good news, there has to be some bad.

Magpie Taylor Adams was the most selected player in Fantasy Classic this year and with good reason. He was named as a DEF/MID and was a lock in tens of thousands of teams from the get-go. It was clear that his role was predominantly playing through the midfield and sadly, that is the only place we can pick him next season.

Likewise, Jack Macrae was one of the poster boys of the available forwards. He, along with Isaac Smith, Jack Steele and Shaun Higgins, are MID only for 2018 after being FWD eligible this year.

New Blue Matthew Kennedy has a few coaches excited about his potential opportunity at his new club. There is still plenty of upside, but some of the allure of the former Giant was as a mid-priced forward.

Proven big scorer. Coming into his prime. Dogs should have better year and doesn’t seem to have any injury concerns presently. Hopefully play mainly mid.

As a mid only i cant see him outscoring

Danger
Fyfe
Dusty
TMitch
Jelwood
Rockliff
Sloane
Pendles
Zorko
D.Beams
Neale
Cripps
Oliver
Zerrett
MCrouch

Obviously the draw and byes can factor in but for me he's low on my "should have" list

Yeah he’s definitely on my consider list. If he’s a bit of a POD he could be very valuable.

Some way too early front runners....

DEF - Hibberd, Yeo, Witherden, B.Ellis, Birchall, R.Clarke, Stoddart (BEN), Buckley (BEN)
MID - L.Weller, LDU, Dow, T.Kelly (BEN), Worpel (BEN)
FWD - Billings, Dahlhaus, McLean, Mathieson, Petrevski-Seton, Setterfield (Ben), Jarrod Garlett (BEN)
RUC - Gawn, Nic Nat

The Bont's massive scoring run in their premiership year kicked off when for the first time he collected 30+ disposals in a game..
That continued for a while and he was scoring massive, but when analysed you see just how much the Bont's scores were scaled
by impact at critical times in very close games, he had massive scaling and i think they wound the scaling back this season didn't they?

Doggies won like 6-7 games by 2 goals or something similar if memory serves me.

I don't know how that correlates to this season as he only scored marginally less to the year before.

Summery: About the only player in the league who can score a 120 from a 20 disposal game is exciting but
unless he's statistics from this year show he no longer relies on impact scaling and is now getting more consistent
points through other means (ie. averaging more disposal, marks, goals, contested footy w/e) i question whether he
can be a 110-115 averaging player this season if the Dogs have an average year again.

If Bont's fit he'll be a mid premium. He is simply far too good at what SC measures and far too good as a player if playing mostly midfield (which he should now that we have actual key position players).

The question is if he's fit. The hip is worrying and the club are very quiet about it. I'm not alone amongst Dogs supporters in praying it's not a chronic, degenerating condition. He didn't have surgery on it this year as he didn't think it made a difference last year, but it's really difficult to predict how he's going to come out.

Us having an "average year" won't hurt his scoring that much because a lot of his work involves starting chains himself. It will impact slightly but he is still absolutely capable of being a mid premo even if we have a year similar to last.
