Ok, what do we do? I love Geary but obviously it's not working.

I honestly can't think of a single player that ticks all of the boxes. Maybe Jack Steele? Carlisle would be good but again he's a defender.

Others have mentioned Seb Ross but I just don't see it with him. We need a player that can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and get us over the line ala Lenny and Roo.

Thoughts?

As dumb as Carlise looks ( always has that “locked keys in car look”) maybe it would do him good ? He clearly wears heart on sleeve ... how much respect does he have from his teammates though ?

I still feel Gresh is captain in waiting
 
One from left field..... but Membrey.... works hard and is our best forward. Seems to understand the game well.

I don’t even think it’s a good idea, but we are that void of leadership.

Armo is the one i’d seriously consider for one year. Again might not be best 22, but at least plays at the coal face and when fit contributes well.

We currently don't have that kind of player or they are not at the level of development yet.
 
This thread is exactly why I wanted to throw the chequebook at Rory Sloane.

Personally I don't see a long term candidate from any of our current leadership group (Geary, Steven, Robbo, Ross, Newnes). Before this year I would have said Newnes, but at this stage I just want him back at 2017 output before we speak about leadership. If its Ross I will vomit.

Jimmy Webster is my pick. Kid has grown up a lot in the last few years, is a best 22 lock and is a heart and soul player.

If not Webb then Bruce (yes the guy everyone thought was a hack before realising that without him our forwardline doesn't function). But personally I want Webster. Could backfire spectacularly (and he certainly needs some media training) but we are getting nowhere with the current direction we are taking. So that's my 2 cents

After watching him closely last night, I honestly believe that Geary is an honest,blue collar VFL level player.

That he was made Captain just shows how badly we lack in that department.

LAst night was the time when we needed a player to step up and impose themselves or even go down trying.

We had no one.

Jake? Yeah but a defender.

Steele? Not ready.

I actually think Ross is our best option right now. He stood up last night and if he didn't have to drop back, he would have influenced the game even more.

What’s even worse - we are struggling to find someone to replace him. Are we this shit? Really?
 
Am in the definitely not Geary but no idea who.

Severe lack of leadership in the team. Probably Ross is the next best candidate, especially if he can get a return like last nights more often.

It’s a pity McCartin is looking more and more likely to have long term injury problems and never realise his full potential as he has the character of a captain.
