Thoughts on jesse hogan improving his average?

He had some monster scores last year, and some shockers and still came out with a 91 avg. Will the move to freo help his scoring??
Moving from a top 6 team that went 1 game from a GF to... um.. Freo won't help his average enough to be a top 8 fwd imo

I'm very surprised he is DPP and looks unders at 505k.

Hmmmmmm
Agree, had overlooked him, a couple of cluey characters on here were on him from the word go.

You're a bit off with Dunkley and libba SterlingArcher I think. Dunkley should be seeing 70% mid time despite libba there. Also libba in 2016 spent alot of time floating forward and was decent. He also is coming off a second ACL so should be spending more time forward.

Wouldn't the forward 50 be more crowded with 12 blokes in there?
Guess higher chance of one on ones in fwd 50 and Lynch should be handy in those?
Reckon it will be of advantage for Melbourne, North with good rucks and midfields.

Great, suddenly i get to watch Kelly stop being a POD right in front of my eyes :thumbsupemoji::thumbsupemoji:

**** yall, i'm going back to bed.
Had him from the get go. Think he can go 100+ this year. Mentioned early on in these threads I believe GAJ will play more fwd minutes this year allowing Kelly more time on the ball and opportunity to boost his scoring output. Second year player in the system. A lot of potential growth for the young lad(And from me if he performs accordingly:devil:)

Plus Geelong will give him that midfield time wanting him to dominate so his trade value is still quite high assuming he’ll request a trade at the end of the season :thumbsu:

Oh the hell with it. T.Kelly changed from F3 to M1, lock for 120+:padlock::fire::fire:

Nah mate GAJ locked in at M1 :fire:

It could be the SC GOAT & the possible AFL GOAT’s final season playing.

We must all honour him by picking him at M1
Ahhhh GAJ. The old perma captain. How I spent many a year gazing at his 300(C) scores weekly

Good luck with that - Interested where you see he's increase in numbers coming from?

Here’s my thinking behind the Parfitt selection:

- Last year the times that Parfitt was given more midfield time he impressed. He’s a good contested player, moves well in traffic, also one of our best two-way players working both ways + lays lots of tackles.

- SC scores of 104, 92, 168, 94, 102, 119 & 117 last year means he can score well, and that was while playing mainly forward with little midfield time. The 168 was against St. Kilda & we were able to give him more midfield responsibility where he racked up 28 touches (16 contested) at 71% efficiency, 7 tackles, 3 goals and 14 score involvements. I expect him to get much more midfield time in 2019 which means he might not kick 3 goals in a game but he should get more of the ball + lays lots of tackles so should still score very well.

- The senior players for Geelong this preseason have been talking about young players needing to step up & take more responsibility which is great to hear compared to the usual spiel about the senior players carrying the load + means they also need to give the younger guys (like Parfitt & Narkle) more of a chance in the midfield to show what they can do. Almost every article I’ve read about Geelong’s preseason has mentioned Parfitt being a standout too so he’s having a full preseason + dominating in match simulation in the midfield.

- I see Parfitt being one of the 6 main midfielders in Geelong’s rotations probably along with Dangerfield, J. Selwood, Kelly, Duncan & Narkle. Scott Selwood isn’t good enough to be in the midfield now (hence why we were playing him as a pressure forward to finish last season), Ablett & Menegola will play that HF role (which Menegola played last season anyway) pushing into stoppages but starting outside the centre square with Parfitt taking over from GAJ’s midfield time.

So in conclusion, Parfitt will play a lot more midfield and should rack up a lot more of the ball (consistently 25-35 touches) but even if he has an off day (only 20 touches for example) then he makes up for it with all the tackles he’ll lay anyway. That’s my thinking behind it.

Wish me luck kents

You've convinced me! Welcome to my team, Parfitt. :)
