$$$$$$$$$....and the green light to never have their real salary cap checked!
Our players aren't lucky enough to win almost $14000 in a club endorsed competition. You know like Tony Notte winning the Swans chase the ace jackpot this year.

Surely you aren't insinuating what I think you are.

Sidnote: Swans have signed Lachlan Riley from Peel Ljp86

Are you suggesting the Ducks rigged the jackpot ?. Social club jackpots are the clubs main method of boosting their coffers.

I think Subiaco should be one of the last teams to query player payments.

Just bringing another perspective to the salaray cap discussion. I know what the suggestion would be if Horse won a similar Subiaco jackpot. But again our players aren't that lucky.

You’re way off dude, do you even know how chase the ace works?

Of course. I know how most sporting fundraisers can be run to increase the benefits to the club.

Just finding the believability level from the general public. So now I know no one will worry when, er sorry, if Harry Marsh wins $20000 in a similar Subiaco organised game of chance.

Okay, so for Tony Notte to win we would need the following to happen:

1. Rig it so his random number is drawn
2. Tell him which card is the ace
3. Hope he hits the ace with the dart

All in full view of the public! Could you believe it!

1. Can be common practice by sporting clubs. Know of one country cricket club who only used half a dozen chooks for a whole season draws in the Thursday night chook raffle. The frozen ticket is the usual trick.
2. Not that hard if it is the goal.
3. Might be tricky but the odds would definitely plummet if the same person or a close family member was drawn out the week before.

Can you believe it! How lucky would that family be if two close family members were drawn two weeks in a row!

Such a shame Subiaco players aren't that lucky in life.

Anyhow back on topic. Lachlan Riley is a great pick up by Swans. Could be a good club player for a decade. Nice of Swans to help him work out if he spends more time at his Fathers or Mothers house which I'm sure was confusing him. Now he can just focus in the football.

You’re getting awfully defensive about Subi mate.

I know the bloke and there is no way it was rigged. Keep projecting though.

- As predicted/rumoured, George Hampson and Josh Simpson have both signed with Swan Districts for 2019. Hampson was let go by East Fremantle earlier this month and said he was "at a loss" to explain why he was let go by the club. Swan Districts will be Hampson's third club after he left Subiaco for East Fremantle in 2014. Simpson returns to the WAFL after last playing in the competition with East Fremantle in 2016 and has spent the past two seasons playing in the Great Northern Football League.
- Swan Districts have signed former Peel Thunder player Lachlan Riley.
- East Perth have re-signed Nathan Blee for 2019 and Julian Ameduri for a further two seasons. The Royals have also added former Swan Joel Houghton while ex Subiaco pair Jarrhan Jacky and Nick Hay have signed for 2019. In further recruiting news, former West Coast Eagles rookie Tony Olango has committed to East Perth for the next two seasons.
- Claremont have re-signed captain Ian Richardson and also Jack Beeck.
- Alex Bray has signed with East Fremantle for 2019. Bray spent 2016 and 2017 with Peel Thunder, narrowly missing out on a finals spot in those two seasons but missed most of 2018 due to a thumb injury.

Swans have signed former Fremantle player Josh Simpson Ljp86

Appreciate it as always, but you have Lachlan Riley going to the wrong club :)

Ah, I had listed Riley as joining Swan Districts in my "Major List Changes" post but had him going to the wrong club in my post above. I've fixed this now. :thumbsu:

Guessing it’s Jack Beeck not Zach that’s signed with Claremont? Zach would be getting on a bit now

Wouldn't have thought I was the one being defensive but anyway let's try again to get it back topic.

Do you think Phil Smarts decision to sign Hampson will damage team morale considering senior players and coaches voted overwhelmingly and unanimously against signing him?

Hopefully they can be grown men and get on with it now that it’s all happened. Time will tell I guess.

- West Perth midfielder Jay van Berlo has retired. van Berlo, who played 186 games for the Falcons announced his retirement to teammates on Friday. The durable midfielder, who is a geophysicist, traveled widely for work but the six days per week commitment to the Falcons made it difficult to balance his working life with his football one. The Falcons' skipper, who also played 32 games for Fremantle in the AFL said that people need to "dig in" to keep the WAFL going and that "we need to do everything we can to keep the competition strong".

I guess "dig in" would be a common expression amongst geophysicists^
