2019 Squad

Madi Robinson and Kim Ravallion have both signed 1 year deals whilst Matilda Garrett has signed a 2 year deal. This is on top of the news about Shimona Nelson yesterday.

The club has also confirmed that Alice Teague Neald will not be part of the squad next year. No word yet on Thwaites, Brandley or Brazill as yet.

It does, although it does allow our team to get younger and perhaps this time we can build a better goal circle combination rather than being so reliant on one player. I actually am not surprised after the news yesterday given that Nelsen is a Goal Shooter rather than a goal attack.

That just leaves Brantley and Brazill from the 2018 squad whose fates are unknown. And of course the four vacant positions left bu Layton, Brown, Bell & Teague-Neald.

I guess when you have a year as bad as ours with an aging list you’ve got to make the hard calls. And there is no doubt our goal circle hasn’t worked even as good as Thwaites is.

I agree she’s not star, but we’ve got a pretty inexperienced goal circle in Sinclair & Nelsen, and there is no doubt Medhurst brings a lot of top level experience to the table. It’s also worth noting that she can play mid-court as well in Wing Attack. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sinclair and Nelsen are the first choice goalers and Medhurst is a bench player at least to start with.
