Bloody good effort by Meek watching the Insta-story. Looks like he came in just behind Ballas, Blakely, Crowden, APearce and Banfield.

Any training watchers want to dish the dirt. Expecting the tail end to be Dixon and Jones. Any players do worse than they should have?
Sean Darcy a long last, his condition is a lot worse than this time last year, I am assuming he is just working his way back.

Nathan Wilson second last, not sure what the issue is there, he doesn't look out of shape.

From memory next was Dixon, who got passed by Scott (rooter) Jones towards the end.

Meek was the best of the big boys, led Lobb in and looks a very mobile unit this year.

First time I've seen Cam this year, he is in poor shape. Having said that he finished middle of the pack, so not a disaster, just disappointing.

Switkowski ran well, as did Colyer and Logue went well for a big bloke.

Giro absolutely brained them, this kid is an endurance beast. Andy Brayshaw worked really hard as did Langdon.

I think we are getting some of our running power back which we seemed to have lost the last two years with the list cuts we made.

I'd love to know the pace/times. I'm guessing the front three would've been around/sub 3:00.

Just curious, I couldn't make it today, what are you basing your assessment of Cam on?

Thanks for that. Wilson being 2nd last is very surprising.

I've mentioned it before but speed, agility and fitness is something Meek has over Darcy and Jones. You can see it in in his defensive pressure, it's very good for a No1 ruck. Haven't seen anything to suggest he could play as a fwd/ruck so he'll still need to overtake Darcy to steal the No1 ruck role.

How did Cox and Tabs go?

Per Km you mean?

Close to 6 minutes flat was the last one Giro did I heard
Yep, so 3:00/km pace is about what I thought the winner would run. For mine, the 2km / 3km time trials are like the 400m for a short dinstance runner. It’s the awkward distance that’s the hardest to pace and hardest to recover compared to a 5/10/21km Run.

It is ridiculous some of the negative things written about Cam.
I watched him at Cockburn this morning and he looks lean and mean.
Presumably, a poster saying he is in poor shape means either poor physical appearance ie; fat or lacking fitness conditioning. Cam is neither.
To say he looks in poor shape is pathetic.

How would you compare to last year/pre-season? Finishing middle of the pack seems around the mark; I am pretty sure McCarthey is never going to be the fighting it out with the likes of Hill and Giro.

Cam appears to have changed his body shape, looking leaned down in his chest .
He is clearly lighter than last year.
You are correct in saying there’s no problem in finishing middle of the pack; he was among others.
More important is how he compared to his own time last year; that information is not released.

I’m not too concerned with McCrafty finishing middle of the pack. He won’t be asked to run as far as the midfielders at high pace. As long as he maintains his pace off the mark and can repeat sprint say 3x 60m (leading patterns/pressuring i50) he’ll be fine. I can’t see him getting any further up the ground than between the f50 and wing.

Yeah, my only question for him is pretty much the same question for every single player on our list; "Are you doing your best to develop yourself as a top-line AFL player in the position you play?" It has been a specific knock on him, and my expectations are that he improves significantly next season. Most of that improvement is going to come from the role he is now likely to play, but some of it needs to come from him.

From memory Tabs was towards the front, Cox was in the last group before the really last group.

Sorry for having an opinion Fred. I stand by it, I watched him closely and he bludged on several of the exercises, and he doesn't look as fit to me as he did last year. In my opinion.

I like Cam and have always defended him but today was my first look at him this year and I was disappointed.

You obviously disagree but I'll stop short of calling your opinion pathetic.

Pretty harsh, it's his opinion, take it or leave it.

But it is totally wrong.
He has an agenda from his posting history.
To opine that a player looks in poor shape when he is NOT in poor shape is a shit opinion.

Stevie Wonder could see Cam is transforming his body shape from last year.

He has an agenda from his posting history.
An agenda would need a means of facilitating the objective, there are no levers to pull here.

Nobody is getting anyone fired on social or other media unless they are on AFL360
