Geez. People wonder why so many people drop out from writing reports here. If you write something predominately positive its not real apparently. You can add me to the list of people who use to write reports.
This is ridiculously precious and manipulative.

Apparently it is intelligent for the posters to pay more attention to the one negative comment from a vocal doucebag, than the 50 - 60 likes the post received from appreciative readers.

You have a tendency to focus on the negative that you don't seem to notice but many others do. No one cares that you might not write training reports anymore, seriously. If you don't do one ever again, no one loses anything at all - because things that never existed are not things that are lost.

Other people that read and post here will find great value out of training reports, and the 1% of those people may post a derogatory comment. That's life. Deal with it.

A delayed over reaction...wtf

What I find really funny is it's the internet. Who cares what someone you don't know thinks about you.
I gave a report at peel game a few years ago which one regular watcher dismissed my OPINION strongly. One of the then Shark line coaches, who I played footy with and lives around the corner from me, agreed with me totally.
Glass houses.
I haven't managed to get many training sessions for a couple years ( no wafl games at all). Hopefully this year I can get to some training sessions.

Training reports almost entirely disappeared, nearly all of the watchers stopped posting here after an ongoing bollocking by multiple people. It wasn't just an occasional "negative comment from a vocal doucebag" situation.

You say that no one cares if Sherrif might not write training reports anymore and you are dead wrong, I care and you'll find that a lot of others are sad that multiple posters no longer give us the clickety clackety of their keyboards after training to tell us what went down. That is on us, the community here let the tone of discourse degenerate to a toxic level in this thread and there were consequences.

In this instance there was no bollocking, no negative critique of anyone's report that I could see. This is a discussion site, is it not, as I'm pretty sure that's all it was.

The above post doesn't even make sense and is just moronic on every level. Yep ive donated my time to write reports in my holidays for five years+ that regularly got more than 50 and as much as 90 likes. There are others who've been reporting for longer, but not that many others. The fact that after doing that you can cop abuse from someone claiming to value the reports probably shows why its a good time to stop. Why would anyone choose to donate their time to provide information for a knucklehead like the above poster.

Seriously mods if the above twat is not given a ban good luck convincing others thats its a good idea to provide training reports, because apparently five years still doesnt warrant not copping abuse when you decide to not write anymore. Funnily enough everyone has a right to stop whenever they want and for whatever reason they want. Its not like you can dock our pay or anything. My reason for what its worth was simply because I stopped enjoying the interaction after the report. I enjoy the optimism of preseason training, which is why I go down there in the first place and used to enjoy writing about my observations on here.

I hope you reconsider, sherrif, because I love your training reports. Almost all of us do.

Quite right that posters can start and stop writing reports at any stage. As a discussion forum they have been a critical point of reference for us, and appreciated. Without them the forum is far less interesting and less robust. Abuse is never OK. Debate is always welcome.

Train Friday, return Wednesday is a 4 day long weekend... makes more sense than making them work on a public holiday surely.

Ross the Boss ain't no bum. Within the club anyway...

I must have missed the part where you were abused and having looked through maybe it was removed which means the mods did their job?

I say this as one of the best things about this site are the pre-season and in season training reports. I work 6.5 days a week 10 plus per hours a day and commit to attempt one or two per pre-season simply because I am so thankful to those who do. Keep them coming mate - keep the optimism coming also... we have a CRAP load to be positive about this year!

Ongoing dev of our exisiting youngsters - bennell in training - hogan fit for round one (or tracking as such) - mcCarthy made to fight for selection while being played in his actual position - Valente should be good from day one - Sturt looks like he has a top end potential that could be crazy good - Brayshaw and Cerra potential A grade mids - Genuine Ruck forward in Lobb - both Hills to hopefully play more footy - Logue to come back and develop, another with a potential crazy high ceiling ....... and, well, FYFE!

Maybe there needs a separate thread, titled 'the pros and cons of writing training reports', so those of us who salivate in antici .......pation of actual training reports & are eternally thankful to those who post them, aren't teased by the prospect of a new training report

Bummer, I was hoping this was going to be a training report. ;)

Trying to be honest here sherrif, people arguing with training reporters in the past have been complete douchebags but I think you might have over-reacted here. As many have said, many of us are incredibly grateful for the reports posted by yourself and others but the comment you took offense too originally was not directed at anyone, read to me as having no malice in it and was purely someone saying he likes non-optimistic reports (as is his right to do). I dont think it was taking aim at or abusing anyone.

I can completely understand it being a touchy subject given how posters have been treated in the past and the time and effort you put in but I think past transgressions might be clouding this one. If indeed that is the end of your reporting, thanks for all your effort.

What do you want a medal? You did it because you wanted to, because you loved it, yet now you're acting as if it has been under appreciated, which simply isn't true. You're not getting it mate - your whinging about their negativity and pessimism makes you no different to them. I've been around this forum for a pretty bloody long time, I just post a lot less regularly these days. In case it wasn't clear, I am saying that I love training reports and come to this forum specifically to read them during the off-season. There will always be people who disagree with you, that's just the way things go - I don't understand why negative comments are so upsetting to you when the ratio of positive reactions to negative ones is ten-fold different. You gotta understand human personalities - those who are combative and opinionated will write comments more often than those who simply appreciate your content. If you have 50+ likes then that should be all you need to know that your contribution has been well received. You're letting yourself react to the dickheads and that just means you become one of them, they drag everyone down to their level.

This is like doing a comedy show where the crowd goes wild in praise, but you read an online comment that said it was shit and suddenly the only comment that matters is the one person saying it is shit?

The ever lovely dockerfemme has given us a report.

...

It was an uninspiring training session today, in part due to the howling gale that made skills impossible. Also the drills performed were largely circle work etc and I could not get any picture at all about who might play where, or what our game plan might be.

I enjoyed myself, nonetheless, catching up with salim malik, Clems Knee and Sandi7 - all guys I love talking footy with.

Andy and Cerra were doing their own program, with some individual work, some running and then retiring inside. Just being managed I would guess.

SHill was briefly on the track, with some walking and jogging, the first time since the op, I was told.

Kersten and Sturt ran laps together.

Harley, Sonny and Sandi were unsighted.

Hogan was also briefly on the track doing a little desultory goal on his own.

As mentioned elsewhere, Michael Barlow put in an appearance.

The only positive on the day is that I think Cam is looking good. Sure, no real muscle definition, but he is slimmed down, with no sign of a belly and moving well, I thought. His field kicking is great.

...

Please PM me your training reports until I reopen the thread next week.

We appreciate your efforts

With thanks we have another report from Freeeoo

....

Some observations from today;

Cerra, Brayshaw, Valente, Nyhuis and Crowden were doing some running drills followed by lots of laps.

Missing were Bennell, Walters, Sandi and Hambling, Shill walked a few laps.
Michael Barlow was an observer today, chatting with Ross and hugged a few of the staff members.

Hogan joined in the warm up drills before peeling off, had a few shots at goal and went inside.

Conditions were very difficult with a strong blustery wind blowing straight down the ground.
The main group at one stage were doing a fairly gruelling drill which included repeat sprints and ball work to execute under fatigue. McCarthy, Wilson and Collyer worked particularly hard in this drill, really pushing themselves.

Dixon left the track early and put on a jacket and I wouldn't be surprised if he's pulled up a bit sore. Tucker was another to go inside early but I think it was planned.

Of the group nearest to me, Wilson, Duman and Hughes showed good skills in difficullt conditions.

BOG for me today would have to be Wilson.

....

Please PM me your training reports until I reopen the thread next week.

Any of the track watchers know where Conca is lining up for you boys this pre season? Half back or in the guts?
