They do play opposite roles of each other though.

Broad is the proven player - but is a 3rd tall lock down, 1v1 defender. Ballard, Hombsch or Burgess can all play this role - maybe not as well, but that's 3 guys we currently have for 1 position. Poor list management really.

Markov is pure rebound speed. We have zero of this and haven't had anyone since Saad left. He would be best 22 Rd1 2021.

And if Atkins also rotates through the back flank, that's an immediate improvement on this season and frees up Bowes into the midfield and/or Lukosius up the field with his elite kicking into our fwd 50.


I don't think we should underestimate the impact Bowes could have rotating through the midfield full-time. The kid is silk in traffic and I think is ready to take his game to the next level if we can free him up from the back flank.
 
Suns should be opening the cheque book at Mihoceks, only been in AFL system for 3 years. Wants a long term deal on good coin.

the Suns are the BEST in the comp for both such things.
The contracts are ALWAYS beneficial to the player NOT the club 🤣

Three chance to pick mature age players and only pick Collins as the right one. The other two Burgess and Corbett signed 4 years deal and now Dew want to ship them out , oh my deal.

Murdoch, Corey Ellis , GHS , Sam Fletcher ,riodan , miles ,McLennan , hombsch , Thompson extension ,Corbett , Burgess , (heron , Dawson contract extension). Pick exchange with Brisbane .

Apart from Grundy , Ped, Treloar , who is Collingwood mid that played against Eagles that required a first round draft pick .

Difference between Clayton and Cameron is miles... look at the difference in draft picks selected... Don’t think Burgess and Corbett are bad selections at all they were right picks at the time. Lukosius and King have just passed them. Good depth players. Cameron restored stability signing all our players the last few years. I remember the trade period when we picked up Ellis, GHS, Murdoch and Miles he cleared mentioned that they were bringing them in for a change in culture and short term fix

Mihocheks 88 goals from 57 games... nothing to be sneezed at.
Not bad after 3 years.


Sam day is 97 from 137games in 10 years.

Hahahaha , why can't GCS pick someone from state league , you do know that any good players once trade to gold coast will end up like Ablett and Hanley more time in rehab than playing for GCS . Why waste money? Just play Corbett and Burgess instead of paying extra super for 28 years dude .mihochek with Collingwood midfield and degoey is a lot different than GCS midfield and Sexton and VFL umpire ( purely for Mr Bods)

Absolutely, but assumably we can only afford one - not two. If we had a choice I'd pick Broad. Structually just offers more. Having rebound speed is fine, but these guys also need to be able to defend.

I think Budarick can offer rebound speed. Just has to grow in confidence to use it at the right times.

Put Miocheck in our side during the past decade and the numbers would be similar, let me tell you.

Poor Daysy cops such a bad rap. Struggle to think of many forwards that have had a tougher life in the AFL as he, when the ball is continually bombed in at you with no real fluency.

Different roles though, right? I thought Corbett showed quite a lot as he started to adjust to the level. With more games he could really grow exponentially. As frustrating as I found him at moments, he definitely showed improvement as he adjusted to the tempo.

Corbett with Collingwood midfield delivery a serious upgrade too . Upgrade -Collingwood midfield and half back and Darcy Moore .

FWIW...Atkins in that game had 21 disposals 5 marks 4 tackles and 6 cont.poss. in 79% game time.

Wouldn't read too much into Atkins being out of the crows side this year, they would have known his intentions a lot earlier than some would think. He wont be a star but can make others look very good, king will love him.

Grainger-Barass 195cm
Bowes 187cm
Powell 187cm
Budarick 178cm

All on match day? It’s a real tall and skinny backline

Geelong play with a very tall backline everyone over 190cm but they have a bit of meat on their bones

Bowes needs to move to the middle.

Touk playing back pocket nullifying the smallest forward and attacking up the corridor would fix some issues..

I really dont agree with Markov, is another player with potential to be great. We need good now

If he is being moved to the rookie list like is being mooted, I think the writing may be on the wall for him.
