Collingwood telling Treloar we don’t want you.
Averaged most disposals in the comp.
Seems odd.
Proves he gets the ball and doesn’t use it effectively

Buyer Beware.

View attachment 995777

The problem is the Pies would know him better than us, so it is buyer beware.

There would need to be massive due diligence done to even consider it.

In addition to Treloar, we apparently have also told Phillips and WHE that we don't want them. Being very aggressive with list management this season...Phillips I get, but WHE/Treloar?... What all of these players have in common (despite Treloar ranking 2nd in CP this year) is that, they all play better with a strong inside group. All much better on the outside with their run and carry. Seems like we're moving away from these outside types getting rid of Treloar (speed), Phillips (endurance/running) and WHE (speed + outside running).

Anyways, does either Phillips or WHE appeal?

Would you do Treloar (we pay a little salary to help you out) + Phillips/WHE for pick 5 + pick 33 + Brodie?

Anything is possible with the ☀️ But I think the biggest problem is list spots

If we do by some chance end up with Treloar and his dodgy disposal, he will be given one simple instruction.. “handball to Matt Rowell at every opportunity”.

Until 2024 when the Pies have freed up cash to poach him and leave us with a fat rich Trealor

No doubt SUNS would stupid to pay Treloar 900K when he is 32.

For the trade to happen, first Treloar has to call and beg Dew every day that he wants to come and that he is happy to restructure his contract. Big Eddie also has to call Cochrane and beg 'Please take Treloar off our hands. We will pay 200K per year of his salary'.

Treloar was number one in contested possessions. I compared his stats with Merrett in 2019 who is 2 years younger. Treloar beats him in most stats including DE and effective disposals. Quite surprising. Collingwood has to pay for extra pair of hamstrings too.

By the way, it seems like a pretty shi* treatment by Colingwood.

the above compared to Merrett surprised me.

mind you the team Merrett plays for sucks balls.
And has next to no midfield guns compared to Pies with adams and pendels

It looks like I was spot on with 200K. We should probably insist on min 250K. Just make sure it's every year for the length of the contract :D

Further conversations since have left the player even more disillusioned with the club and hurt by their approach. The Magpies have told him they don’t see him as part of their plans – despite him reaffirming his preference to stay - and would consider paying more than $200,000 of his 2021 salary even if he was at another club.

They’ve also told him he is difficult to coach at times, with no further explanation or clarification.

Geez, did Treloar get it on with Mrs. Bucks?

I don’t understand how a football club can be so hell bent on publicly kicking a star player to the curb. Leave this talk until you’ve got him out of the club and secured the bag surely.

Some Collingwood posters still thinking pick 5 + (or even 2 first round picks in one case) is inevitable because of Dew saying the pick was on the table for a class player. But that was well before it came out that Collingwood will seemingly do anything to get him out the door.

The circumstances have changed and paying pick 5 and 900k a year (or whatever it is) for a player that doesn’t want in and is only here because he got thrown out by his club and has dodgy hammys and dodgy disposal seems like an awful list management decision.

The biggest recruits we are going to get is hopefully some massive improvement from the

This Treloar bloke can't take a hint ;)

Although he's probably got $4m reasons to just stay put.

Based on all this you would play it cool, see if any other Vic club wants to pick up his contract.

Like the poster above said we shouldn't get too involved from here. We have signaled our interest, but it's a 2 way street and he would have to come to the realisation he's prepared to move north.

Then if he's on board we can play hardball at the trade table and see how badly the Pies want him to go.

Sounds desperate by the Pies. They probably didn't want this stuff getting out as it hurts their bargaining power if they just want his money off their cap so that they can balance the books in the future. If the relationship is this bad they would have to accept just a semi-decent deal.

The pick they get will be dictated by the amount of money they are prepared to pay on a deal that is looking like a massive overpay.

I know people are stressing buyer beware but I'm seeing the potential opportunity the other way. This could be the experience that really ends up driving Treloar to clean up his disposal and prove to the Pies that they were wrong to trade him.

A highly motivated Treloar in his prime years could be a serious weapon for us as we rise up the ladder.

He's turning 28 - he is who he is as a player now, expecting anymore would be foolish. He's got max 2 prime year and whoever takes him on is signed up for 5 years at top dollar

I think Treloar would actually be better at the suns. As a regular Collingwood fan on this board has said before Treloar usually has to do the inside work alot and that would impact his disposal efficiency. At the Suns Greenwood and Rowell are our contested ball beasts so Treloar just needs to run into opens space and get the receive. Less pressure equals better ball use..right?

Says Suns are wanting to move up the draft. Sounds like they may have their eye on somebody and don't want to wait at pick 5 to see who is available.

I could see Hawks being interested if it got them an extra couple of 2nd rd picks to move down

Possibly...

The main reason we need to get an A grader is that we need to start taking some big steps up the ladder next year in order to show the kids that we have that they can have success at the Suns.

Kids like Flanders and Sharp need to have a big pre-season to earn their spots in the team and build their motors up and push out some of the dead wood in the team.

Will Phillips yes please. I much prefer this to a kicking and screaming Treloar.

Yes please, Logan McDonald come on down

I wonder if the pies are being cruel to be kind. Playing some tough life, knowing that despite what he is claiming; he will struggle without his family. So in attempt to get him to realize it would be better for him in the long run.

I just can't imagine the club would say to him "we don't want you" and that he is "Uncoachable."

Why don’t we give up pick 5 for Saad, it sounds like a ☀️ move, throw away players and then overpay for replacements. In this case it just happens to be the same player 😂

Just like Treloar neither wants to play for the suns, why are we chasing him, it will come back and bite us massively IMO

From every report we arent actively chasing him, we are expecting Collingwood to come to us wanting pick 5 for him.

Collingwood tried to get rid of Treloar last year too.

Jen please get on the Pies board and start a save Treloar page as I fear the ☀️ are trying to do something very very stupid

Yeah. Add the salary cap into it I guess.

It's just a real sad situation. Footy is a cruel business.
Who in right mind would extend the player for 4 years on back-ended deal supposedly 900K and then 3 months later tried to get rid of him (if I understand the timeline correctly).
