Surely the GC academy kids are off limits? I thought that new rule only applied the BS zones academies. However, although I assumed the GC had an exemption, surely Sydney has lost it. The number of kids playing in Sydney now is huge. Every year there seems to be a local top 10. No way they should keep getting exclusive access to those players.8. Bodhi Uwland (Gold Coast - Academy)
Best position: Inside midfield/general defence
Height, weight:185cm, 84kg
Recruited from: Gold Coast
Projected draft range: 20-60
Plays like: Luke Hodge
July ranking: 12
Rationale: With the way he has shown he can impact games in his two NAB League matches and with how he has held his own and progressed in the VFL since, Uwland's stocks should only continue to rise as scouts in clubland see more of him. With his damaging and penetrating kick, contested ball winning and how he bursts through stoppages and shrugs tackles so easily, there is sizeable scope to develop.
Strengths:
Penetrating and damaging but reliable kick
Kicks placed out to the advantage side for teammates to lead onto
Decision making with ball in hand
Vision
Contested ball winning
Powerful shrugging of tackles
Aggression
Physical edge
Evasion
Agility
Acceleration
Leap
Versatility to impact games either through the midfield, defence or across half-forward
Weaknesses:
Endurance
Work rate

That's right. But do the Suns have an exemption for it is my question.thought its was only protected outside top 20 ?

Get in lineHe had me at hello

Reads like the type we need for sure if he can do all this at the level. I am keen for the KP types also but our centre clearance needs to be fixed.8. Bodhi Uwland (Gold Coast - Academy)

All the Queensland/Sydney academies still have first dibs on their players no matter if they're bid top 20 or not. That's right. But do the Suns have an exemption for it is my question.
for petes sake tell me he aint 174cmPraying to god we go hard for Ben Hobbs, Seems to be a contested ball beast and thats what we need so much, (And a Key Defender but the Keys in this draft arent as good i think could be wrong)
181 cm according to the afls website https://www.afl.com.au/news/659292/...ive-beast-who-could-be-drafts-ace-in-the-holefor petes sake tell me he aint 174cm
Will be the player most likely to get called out by GC with their first pick IMOWith Astbury retiring we might keep our first round pick to try and get Gibcus
Looks like he has grown to 183cm and is a September baby so not 18 yet and probably has another 2cm growth181 cm according to the afls website https://www.afl.com.au/news/659292/...ive-beast-who-could-be-drafts-ace-in-the-hole
Starting to warm to Josh Ward from Northern Knights, turned 18 3 days ago. Averages 29 disposals 6 marks & 4 tackles a game. In Vic Metro trial game he had 29 disposals 8 clearances and 2 goals. With our 1st pick im in the Erasmus camp
Pick 4? Not sure about that. Think there'll be a quite a few ahead of Gibcus at that point. Will be the player most likely to get called out by GC with their first pick IMO
Totally depends on trade week and to see what falls from the tree. We’ve given up high picks before in Prestia (Pick 6) and that’s worked out for us and we’ve had busts with high draft picks as well so I reckon we would definitely be letting it known that we’re in the game for trading our picks, and specifically have our targets. Add the potential for pick swaps as very likely to happen with the picks we've got, to get where we need to be, and our current draft hand changes. (Doesn’t have to a player involved it could be us wanting to move up the draft order).Question about our strategy heading into the draft
With Ashbury retiring, we will be sitting at 35 of 38 list spots filled (not inclusive of seperate rookie spots)
Holding 4 picks inside the first two rounds and and knowing we need to make at least 3 selections, do we think we will aim to take our three highest picks to the draft and potentially trade one of our second round picks for either Richards or narkle?
a draft hand of 2 first rounders, a second rounder and a trade for a quality young developing mid seems like a very hand trade period to me
Most likely there will be but teams like GWS & GC would have him directly in their sightsPick 4? Not sure about that. Think there'll be a quite a few ahead of Gibcus at that point.
