To be fair to these teams tonight , they have everything to play for.

More criticism should be thrown at coaches like Mark McVeigh today, who I don't really know what the logic of playing that chip, slow, 98% non-play on from a mark style footy.

GWS season is dead and the coach is now unlikely to get a contract probably in the next 2 years because of that style of football he has shown in the past couple of weeks. If GWS lost today in a high scoring shoot, you probably would have found out a bit more about their players. Fair play to the Roos and Eagles who although are bottom 2 sides at the moment, haven't played defensive slow football due to ladder rankings alone. They have looked to attack and play as much free flowing footy as possible.

It feels like Mark McVeigh likes a bet and maybe he got his mates and close family to get on for AFL fantasy lines.


I hate to say it but there may be a time in the future in our game, there be a bonus point system in future for more attacking play like they do in super rugby- which I am warming more and more towards , despite being a traditionalist.

I mean would anyone Big Footy oppose a system whereby you get 4 pts for a win? and a bonus point for scoring 100+ pts ?

Coaches would find some way to exploit it lol. Imo umps should just call play on quicker in order to stop floods back and discourage teams to set up zones

I do agree and think you're onto something here. Anything to entice higher scoring, it's a factor of why fans aren't going to games anymore to watch shit like this.
