Thinking Neale VC but wondering how much this is influenced by the fact that I have the night off work and want some more excitement while I watch... Typically those choices end poorly. Better than trading in Taylor Adams

I just don't think Neale has that big of a ceiling. He has 30 touches a game but doesn't get many marks or tackles. I might look foolish at the end of the night but I'm expecting 110ish.

But I do think he has a ceiling where he's in a position to turn it on. IDK how many points he scored in the second half a few weeks ago, but it was a game that needed someone to step up and lead, and he did it — tackles, goals, constant running etc. I'd be surprised if it was less than an 85-point half all said and when a guy can do that I have at least a little confidence in his overall prospects.

I'm not sure I'd bet on anything higher than 110 though if I had to put money on it.

But I'm not sure why I'm arguing with you given that I actually want to be talked out of it!

How did you go? 115 is a coin flip decision I think.

He got bumped to 119, so I'm fairly comfortable taking that.

I reckon it's more likely than not that Macrae beats 119, but last week I begrudgingly banked Neale's 128 in supercoach instead of going Cripps captain - and look how that worked out.

Always the play to take a good score just in case an injury happens, right?

The potential downside has to be greater than getting a 130ish from MacRae & only gaining 10-20 extra

If I had Bray (you know the story there… ) I would have the C on him for sure. Look at what Laird, Keays, Oliver and Neale did to Essendon in recent weeks. Petracca’s the only one to really miss out against them

It's always a risk picking someone you haven't captained before.....

I've got the Dunkley/Macrae VC thing the wrong way every single round so far, as a result Steele's been my captain every week.

111 captain average isn't the worst result
