Hi

Thanks for your call and apologies I had not got back to you just yet.

I can confirm I have taken your membership off of auto renewal for 2022.

If we can assist you any further please do not hesitate to reach out at any point.

Take care.

He treats the supporters like mindless idiots, but he is the arrogant idiot 😡

Just the other day i was talking to my son in Sydney who has had on a number of occasions, had business dealings that Koch together with others and his description of him was exactly yours, quote "I'm telling you dad, he's is an arrogant idiot" unquote.
I would believe it because my son has always been a very good judge of character. ☺

And that's done for me also.

Response from Dylan Klose to my request to cancel membership.

"Sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with club at this time.
I'll place your membership on a non-renewal now, though if you change your mind, feel free to contact me".

One of the hardest decisions I've made in a long time.

I'm not renewing because the club's current administration has actively and deliberately alienated me. So I'm getting out of this abusive relationship. Call me a supporter in exile.

Until that administration changes, I wish them nothing but miserable failure, on field and off.

I'll set aside what I spend on my annual membership and the club can have it when it deserves it.

Raman you’re one of my favourite posters on this board.

What do you mean by the first para?

Very hard decision now made - I've cancelled my Essential Power Gold membership and my membership of the Chasing Greatness Fund (what a laugh that name now seems after that utterly embarrassing and very distressing Prelim Final Power flop) but I just could not bring myself to detach completely from the club I love after so many decades starting from when I was under 10 years old and my late father took me to Alberton Oval and then progressing to become our Port Adelaide Magpies cheer squad leader in the very early 1970s era (see my avatar pic of how we looked at Adelaide Oval at the southern end goals with a line of black and white "floggers" stretching into the distance) and then experiencing numerous Maggies Premierships and finally seeing our club admitted to the AFL.

So, I emailed our club membership dept explaining why I was so upset about our Prelim Final debacle and asked them to put me onto a basic membership that doesn't have game access (so that I still financially support the club but for a considerably lower $ amount than I do now) plus I also decided to continue my membership of the Premiership Fund whereby I pledge a fixed $ amount every time our AFL team wins as I see this as an incentive for our players to win whereas the Chasing Greatness Fund is a fixed amount pledged per month whether our AFL team wins or not - I will only revisit full membership and The Chasing Greatness Fund when I see (hopefully) no more of that disgraceful excuse of a game we were subjected to last Saturday night.

I’ll renew.

My attitude towards Port has changed in recent years. In the past I organised my life around Port games. Would not miss one. Missing the occasional game doesn’t bother me like it did.

I always enjoy a Port win and always will, no matter who we beat. Port’s still running in my veins.

Right now I have zero expectations that we’ll win a GF with Ken in charge but will keep enjoying the wins when they come.

Yeah I'll renew just like I did in the Primus years and with similar expectations of joy.

I support the club not the incumbents.

Can I get a sack Hinkley membership. I'm going to let mine roll over as it always does and then just not attend any games. There is only one reason why, to retain my seats I got on AO opening.

My seats, I'll do what I want with em. Likely will just whore the seats out to people who want to go.

I'm keeping my membership. I've been through my seven stages of grief. I'm still shattered, disappointed and honestly there's still some disbelief but I couldn't think of any other footy club I'd rather support. I'm old - in my 50's :) so I've been every type of Port supporter. The duffel coat wearing autograph hunting kid who loved Tim Evans and Russell Ebert, the young adult in the bar at footy park who missed a lot of the game, the new parent who signed up each baby in the weeks after they were born and now the nufffie who watches every footy show and listens to every podcast (and spends too much time on this forum). I couldn't rewatch the game this week, still can't. I couldn't listen to SEN this week, skipped Whately, turned off "The Couch" - but I did listen to Travis Boak on the way home from the game and it was hard to listen to - he was gutted, in tears and so genuinely apologetic to the members and supporters. Tredrea said to him "mate, I had to lose two prelims before I got to our Grand Final - remember that."

Ken has one more year. Next year we'll know by round 6 if we've got the fight to get there again. If we haven't Ken will be gone. It's really important how the boys interact with each other over the next couple of weeks before they all head off for the break - if they bond together and resolve to get there (with the help of some good recruiting and the young boys getting through the year strongly) we'll be okay.

Next year I'm looking forward to the return of Shaun Burgoyne and everything that comes with it. The idea that we could have several junior Burgoynes back training at Alberton gives me hope.

One last thing, my Dad was old old Port, he died in November last year, I was gutted last year when we lost the prelim as I wanted him to see the fairytale. He was at the 2004 and 2007 Grand Final - Port gave him a lot of joy but it also gave him some heartache - he used to say "if you can''t love em at their worst, you don't deserve them at their best". He never would have boo'd our players.

Couldn't imagine cancelling my membership.

Who should I email my thoughts to? Who's the highest up I can go?
Koch. There’s nobody higher up themselves than him.

Seriously … Richo.

I know most of us pay more, but let's say the average bigfooty poster pays $350 for a ticket/membership. It would only take 1,000 of us to divert 1 years membership to sacking him and paying out his 6 month contract.

I'd do that.

I’d donate to the Sacking Hinkness fund.

Can't you put a freeze on your seat for a year? I thought that was a thing. I thought it was there for people who move overseas or interstate or whatever for a period and can still get their seat back when they return.

Hahaha, I doubt it… the “you’ll lose your seat” threat is basically all they have to get members to sign up by a certain date!
