You guys see the stat that only 3 teams have won the week after playing pies and two of those mAtches were vs north?? Got to seriously consider stkilda on that basis with a few handy ins and now stkildas form vs hawks might be taken seriously and they may be finding some late season spark

Dont think this stuff means much, something comes up each year with specific teams and samples are too small usually.

I will say though last weeks win by Carlton and their current form has them in a big buy high spot however, while St Kilda are pretty much written off by everyone. Models usually pick these things up and most have this week liking STK.

Losing Cerra and Harry McKay, on top of no Walsh- I think means maybe Carlton play a bit less direct today. Also not sure what happened to Silvagni but he would be considered one of their bigger players as well. I think a game like this , players will look to go to their leaders more. Bar Pittonet, De Koning and Curnow, I dont think Carlton have that many other big men in forward line/midfield and great targets to go to. 4+ marks isnt the biggest number so Im happy to ride it.

Last week the Saints played Hawthorn- a team that didnt have much on the line. Last week was a fun end-to-end style game for the neutral, not sure if we see that kind of game today (i know we all would love to see it on here) but there is plenty of stakes on the line. Hawks one of those sides, if they are going to lose, they are going to go down swinging. For them its about developing game style play for next season even if they end up losing by 5-6 goals. Blues have the pressure of just getting a win and getting into the Finals.

And a quick look at the games Carlton played at the Docklands this season, they have won the mark count 3 games and lost on 1 game .

Windhager has settled at half back (and Stocker out), Gresham & Phillipou aren’t full time mids.
