They hold picks 12 and 15 and Austin appears to have had a good trading relationship with the Dog’s in recent times …

The only Problem i could see with that is they both might get offers of ~$300k plus because of their upside. You end up spending ~$600k on two players who might come good.

Doubtful both get north of 300k next year. Nothing ventured nothing gained imo.

I get we have cap pressure but 4 or 5 draftees and 1 or 2 might work out. Or take 1 top 6 and 1 or 2 young on the cusp that want to come back to Vic might be better for us right now. Who knows.

I'd imagine thats regarding our 2024 first and whatever we get for TDK if true.

Let’s also not forget that North and the Giants are in line to get additional first round picks as compensation - and while that may mean we can trade one with the Giants it also means that even if we finish bottom 6 we may not have a top 6 draft pick depending on what the compensation ends up being

I think it was AFL.com.au that had a story saying that the offers for Himmelberg may get there based on what the Giants have already offered him and I’m sure the AFL would be happy to help the Giants out (and North too)

Ruck depth is illosury if two of them aren't in the picture for AFL. A very (VERY) hard call could be coming up on Mirkov.

No need to go trading our inside mid depth more than we already have, if the club was smart it would use the extra player to keep all of Cripps/Kennedy/George/Dow fresh throughout the season.

If TDK goes - and we'd be mad to match some of the rumoured contract numbers - we should aim to turn him into a first rounder + homesick 20+yo. Ollie's brother, maybe?

Rendell and Twomey have said the 2023 draft class is a weak one Draft experts give first indication into quality of 2023 class

So it probably doesn’t make sense to trade in our 2024 first rounder into this year since we would only get a late first rounder for it - unless we really value someone a lot higher than everyone else does

We may be fine with just using our first pick and see what we can get for some we trade out eg Fisher

The biggest thing they need to do is trade pick 1. They need as many draft picks as they can get, Harley Reid won't make a scrap of difference to this basket case.

I know you won’t like the idea of splitting our first but I would do it. Dogs have their own pick and a pick tied to Brisbane so might be keen.

Trade F1 into this year
Trade TDK for a top pick, if he wants out

Barrass + two (potentially three) first round picks, would be the refresh this list needs. Try and find 1-2 low cost Acres/Hewett types. Campo boys next year.
