Went to school at Mt Lilydale in the Outer Eastern suburbs - from right under Hawthorn's nose hahahaha knew we were losing all those games for a reason

well there ya go,doubt he was there in 1980 but something we have in common,except i went from winning the 400 meters 5 years in a row at primary school sports,to beating home a little bow legged italian kid named enzo at mt.lilydale for 2nd last place and i didnt even think about the football team,after being the grade 6 star full forward in an undefeated side

still spewing we never got to play the also undefeated yarra junction ps,every school missed playing one other that year,by the time i got to upper yarra high school in 1981 amongst all the yarra junction kids,we were still arguing over who would have won

bet Maxy did a bit better at mt.lilydale,i remember watching one of those school matches that were curtain raisers to the escort cup and the mt.lilydale kids my age were playing against SOS in i guess 1984 or 85

The youngster has certainly got a strut and a serious demeanour about him.

I think we’ve found one, and I hope he can burst his way into senior football as soon as possible. I just hope he doesn’t follow his heart back to the Hawks.

Max would be a good man to know if you were the kind to invest in half a beast, might be a few bbq aficionados in the club that take a shine to him.

i guess he had a choice between 37 40 and 46,i like that hes chosen 46,that tells me that he is eyeing off a big upgrade next season & if he got 37 or 40 he would be more likely to be stuck with it

Crazy to think he was playing for Box Hill last year. Looked great from his first game and has only gotten better. His last 5 weeks in particular have been incredible.

How good has this kid been:

9th most disposals
7th most contested possessions
8th most clearances
6th most tackles
4th most inside 50s
4th most goals
1st most goal assists

Has had a couple of quiet games here and there, has definitely built through the season, but now we can see that he's capable of being a very very good AFL player. Seems to have a great attitude too!

Spot on. Smooth, crafty half-forward who hits the scoreboard, sets teammates up and can have an impactful run through the middle is exactly what Hall is, and what Billings was supposed to be.

But Hall seems ice cold whereas Billings looks like he plays with crippling anxiety and therefore his game became the weakest flavour of vanilla.

His decision making and calmness under the pump is elite ..... gets himself in good positions and when he receives it knows what to do .... looks great on the run

Billings is currently smashing it for Casey and was also great in quite a few games for us ... reckon his development was crushed by Richo / Ratten ... and the injuries didnt help ... many might not agree but I reckon we fckd him

Think it was a case of really bad career timing for Jack.
He won that comeback game against the Dogs - 55 points down - for us off his own boot.

That was a glimpse of what might have been. Feel bad for him.

I definitely traded thrillthirpe into my sc team at the right time.

And I definitely traded max out of my sc team at the wrong time.

In fact I might have swapped them ...

The following is true

So my girlfriend and I were at the game on the weekend, and have since watched the final quarter replay twice together, both of us in awe of your impact in that final quarter. Several times I voiced my dismay that you hadn't signed on for next year.
So a few days ago I said to my girlfriend (who is very attractive, btw.... not that that should matter... but come on.... it doesn't hurt... am I right, Max?) Max Hall has signed on. She was really happy about it. "Yay that's awesome" she said with glee. I then lovingly kissed her on the forehead and said "I love that you know who that is"... "yeah, number 40!" she replied

So Max.... you've gone from playing at box hill to tearing games apart in the AFL for the Saints, and having beautiful women all over the country not only know who you are, but be in awe of your ability.

Things are looking up mate... long may it continue.
