I wonder if next season TNT will get to control their broadcast when they add an QF and SF game. or if the deal is still just retransmit the ESPN stuff while ESPN gives them the TV slots against the NFL

Tulane, good grief, Notre Dame would have given a way closer game.
Then Notre Dame should of been in a conference. but even then they would of still been there and just replaced JMU

Group of 5 schools will never be in the CFB playoffs again
We dont want a Big10/SEC invitational. and i guess then they shouldnt be allowed to schedule any G5 or FCS teams in the regular season. hell might as well place half the ACC and Big12 on the banned list since they are also easy beats.

This $6m is program changing for James Madison. Hell if Texas or Notre Dame were playing the Ducks they would also get stomped. There are not 10 teams good enough to win the national championship game anyway

FCS has a 12th seed and unseeded team in a semi to play the the FCS championship game. the unseeded team beat the #1 ranked team

why do people want to root against underdogs in college football.

You make very valid points there is legit only 4 teams for mine that can win it all.

I suppose it is great exposure for these smalls schools which will only help parity and recruiting in the long run.

I don't mind one random university making it in there for the novelty factor, but Tulane haven't had a good player since Randy Moss and were just embarrassing today. The American must be a truly awful conference.

They said it pregame. Oregon is a team on 4 and 5* players. James Madison is mostly 3* or less and have never had a 5* player.

Im just sick of the narrative that only SEC and Big10 teams deserve to get to the playoffs. If we want more parity more teams need to get exposure and the G5 schools shouldn't be treated like dirt because they dont have a TV partner gushing over them every day.

Dont worry anyway
THe Pac-12 is rebuilt next year
So it'll take a fluke like DUke winning for there to be another G5 school in the playoff :p
I feel they will move to 16 next season. the decision was moved from December 1st to mid Jan on expanding/changing the playoff structure. and would give top 4 teams first round games at home that can be a financial boom for them and avoids the 4 week gap between games which tripped up a couple last season

Boise State-Oklahoma
Utah-Alabama
TCU-Wisconsin
Tulane-USC

But nooooooooo, g5 schools can't compete
tired narrative by those who hate college football and only like big name schools.

Just like how Kirk Herbstreit said it felt wrong with no CFB last weekend while ignoring the FCS playoffs, Army/Navy and a couple of bowl games just because the SEC had the weekend off

I'd accept it if it's top 6 champs.
But we need to work towards 24 with all 10 champs.

It'll help smaller schools get the kids who can offer extra playing time for money with the same chance of a title.
Will help stop the super teams of Ohio State forming

I think conference champions should host first round games. Send a SEC school to Boise or a MAC team with a snowstorm.

Also UCF were competitive vs that stacked LSU team in 2018 with Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, CEH. that would go undefeated the next season and crush Clemson in the NCG.
