No to Robey
Kid Slap GIF by MOODMAN

He was also talking about Essendon jumping up to pick 2 though, Riley said for CDT and Twomey said no I wouldnt say that. Then went on a few minutes about Sharp and how Essendon needs mids.
Wce board will be good viewing draft night if this happens essendon trade up to 2 and take Sharp, especially if richmond took robey and cumming off the board next.

It would be their worst nightmare. A few posters still think if bombers move up its for CDT or Robey, but the way Twomey was talking, I wouldn't rule out the Sharp move.

Yeah I agree. I think there's a pretty good chance of it. Essendon being after Dursma CDT could all be a bit of a smoke screen

From what I’ve seen his disposal looks fine. But I’m YouTubing highlights and haven’t looked at disposal efficiency stats.
He looks to have a long penetrating kick .
And he’s only been in the system a short time, he hasn’t had the elite junior coaching that some of these kids have had over 3 + seasons.
The comparison was to Bont and Dusty though, two of the classiest, most creative users we've seen in the last 10-15 years.

Robey can clearly kick - his set shot goal kicking is probably his greatest strength. I would agree that his kicking is "fine". If you look at his 40 disposal game his use wasn't super. Not just disposal quality, but the decision making. Got a lot of his disposal smothered/turned over. I'd say the comparison to SPP is pretty good. Powerful, aggresive mid/forward who can be damaging forward, but disposal and decision making still a bit of a question mark. SPP also a first round pick (teens), and has gone on to play 150+ games. I know the name will possibly invoke strong reaction, but it's an outcome you'd have to be happy with if we took Robey.

can bigfooty Richmond folk post some examples of defenders taken top 3 that went on to become genuine stars of the competition ?
Paul Bullus should've went top 2.
We got a bargain

Hey guys, I’ve got some good links inside the club and got some pretty strong intel today.

Firstly the club was really keen on Mal Rosas Jnr. He was actually really keen on us too. The club organised for him to go to dinner with MRJ and during the evening 6-7 times fans stopped and asked MRJ for a photo. Rosas asked MRJ if that’s normal and MRJ said as a Richmond player it happens all day every day. Rosas is introverted and quiet and said he didn’t know if he could handle that environment because it’s literally never happened on the Gold Coast and decided the anonymity of Sydney was going to be better for him, hence the decision to choose them.

We are very interested in a crop of Indigenous boys. We sent the KGI team to WA a couple of months ago to meet and spend time with them and we love a kid called Pickett. I expect he will be taken with whatever pick 38 ends up being. We are certain to use that pick on an Indigenous kid and will probably bid on some of the west coast academy players here if they haven’t been selected yet but Pickett is the kid we want.

The club loved what we did bringing players that had played together in last year and particularly the bond it has created amongst the kids at the club.

The plan is replicate that again this year but this time it will be with a batch of boys from SA.

Our hope is that WC take Dursma and CDT or Robey because we will be taking Sharp and Cumming at 3 & 4. We will take Sharp of the board with pick 3 immediately and then try to turn pick 4 into pick 5 with a trade with Essendon for them to take either CDT or Robey whoever the eagles don’t take. Our aim is to get a future 2nd and Essendons pick to help with our academy stuff next year.

We will then add Kellaway as a 3rd SA boy either with our final pick or by matching a late bid and we already have a deal in place with a club for a 2027 3rd or 4th rounder if we need any points to match the bid (but the club doesn’t expect this to be required as it’s likely in this draft Kellaway slides to rookie selection if we don’t take him)

Anyway my sources are always pretty good (check my history, I broke the news on the Bolton deal last season). Take it for what it is worth and obviously a bit of time for things to change but that’s what I know so far. (Also if u watch Gettable last week, Robey says tigers were the last team to show interest and my understanding is with Lalor and Smillie we don’t think he fits our list)
Not doubting your links but I also have connections with the recruiting team and I've never heard them once be so specific on who we want and who we dont want. Very surprising indeed if correct.

I would be disappointed if our recruiting team were “hoping” the team ahead of them in the draft would take the 2 best prospects in the draft, just so we could pair 2 kids from the same state.
its a clever troll, did enjoy. plausible enough to generate heat while also being ridiculous horsehit.

He had us taking the Whitlock Twins, which we rated so low on our forwards list we traded out the pick.

I am just happy to have stuff to read.

he said his links are in the richmond social media team. let's assume that's true. how likely do you reckon it is that the guys we pay to put together tiktok videos are privvy to intimate details of our draft strategy?

Is that a trick question? Richmond social media team? Unless your link is someone on the board or in the football department you have no link.

They are hedging their bets because they have no idea who we are taking. Going to be 2 disappointed kids live on TV
Think they will go well before pick 86 or whenever the first round ends this year lol
