Pretty philosophical about this draft. We will not be contending for at least 4 to 6 years. This draft is one of the most even ones we have seen for the top 10 to 15 players. It is not deep, but there are rough diamonds to be had later in the draft.

There is absolutely no point in getting upset about our club not picking this player or that. They will pick the best that their large body of evidence indicates to them, which is far more than any poster here has.

There are lots of small heated exchanges on this thread. People need to cool their heels.

All will be revealed on the 19th and 20th of this month.

I think with CDT you would not play a conventional ruck with him.

in that sense Simms would be a good partner theoretically.

CDT if it works is more than a ruck, so his best partner would be another hybrid to enhance the teams effectiveness.

you would not necessarily want CDT stuck in the ruck. Having CDT as a ruck rover would be too much like they did with Jackson at Freo sometimes possibly.

CDT in certain matchups on certain parts of the field could be highly effective, it is just a question of finding them and then at some stage he will help in the ruck so who else should ruck in that scenario if it works?? I suppose West Coast have the time to figure it out

Theoretically CDT's best ruck partner is another CDT but there is not other, lol

Sharp barracks for Essendon. I think internally it wouldn’t be his first choice but he’s not gonna come out and say “Yeah I follow them but I sure as shit don’t wanna play for them”

I think a lot of the group have expressed us as a destination they’d love because of our young squad and knowing a lot of our guys.

Let it play out. Everyone is guessing atm. Even me, my source is internal but this is the draft to let information flow that will get people looking the other way. My info on Sharp and X was very strong and from what I have personally seen from our recruiting group. But I’m not as certain as I have been in other years. I still think the club want to get more picks into the future and are playing it that way.

I am leaning to Sharp and Cummings atm, but that is just me, for 3 and 4. I assume WC takes Duursma and CDT
