It seemed to change from when Francis Jackson became full time ifor the 2006 draft. So the 2025 draft will be 20 years with so far only Conca amongst the rd 1 picks having go home factor attached. And he eventually went home.

yeah but there are so many more variables to picking a player than state.

the draft is 50% Victorian, so before you consider any other factor such as talent tiers, positions etc… there’s about a 1 in 2 chance the kid will be Victoria.

I don’t know what the vic 1st rounds compared to interstate ratio is but since Hodge there has only been 3 non Victoria no.1 picks (maybe I missed one?) Cooney, Swallow and JHF, who we threw a truckload at Norf to pick, so obviously despite his go home thing we weren’t fussed.

If we deem the kid is the highest rated player on our board I reckon we will back ourselves to keep them.

Super consistent, balanced transition two way runner, good defensive game, very competitive. Won't be disappointed if his name is read out.

Literally this week Jasper and cal have said we have put a lot of time into Robey on gettable and espn podcast. And cal in his phantom on Wednesday said we are strongly considering Robey.

and Grockadoc and DontArgue4 have said they’re info suggest we are into him? But they don’t count for you?

Have heard from people in that space seperate to those you named that he is on our shortlist as well along with Cumming, Taylor, Grlj, Sharp.

Unfortunately they are always going to be guarded with controlled questions pre draft which is understandable.

But I encourage everyone to load up on post draft questions so we can dig a bit deeper!

From what I've seen, it's not great. I do want to reiterate that I like Robey, I'd just prefer Sharp, Cumming and CDT before him.

Cumming's kicking isn't great either but I like his turn of foot. More explosive than Robey.

Haha. I just don’t see any reaching those heights. Maybe those style of player. But not the sheer level of class.

And you shouldnt

Its hard to see what heights kids reach and i doubt anybody seen the Bont or Heeney reaching thie heights prior to being drafted or Cotchin/Dusty

But we can see similarities in their style at that level and thats what we base opinions on
