Will wait for DFS data. I remember the commentator said [Sheerin] was playing forward instead of defence, but I switched off after the injury. This was a 100-point thrashing where everyone played well and got loads of points. Could possibly be an outlier. She also had extremely low TOG the last 2 games. Was she coming back from injury? If she wasn't listed as a mid, I'd consider her. North just have so many mids.
To be fair, I was thinking less of Sheerin as an option for a team near the top (like yours). More for somebody who needed a budget option with decent high-end potential who could make some cash. Maybe even be a keeper depending on how long Garner misses.

Sheerin missed the match sim with an injury and only played a half in the official preseason game. I don't know how much of the low TOG the first two weeks was building fitness v just not having a clear role for her. It could be a bit of both.

It does look like she got a decent share of the CBAs in the game on the weekend. North have been rotating two rucks and four mids for over a year now. They may try more people with Garner out, but they didn't against Freo. Could be worth a look for somebody.

Interestingly, CBA doesn't seem a metric they record. (Far right)
But Sheerin had 1 centre clearance, and 3 overall.
I get CBAs off DFS Australia. No idea where they get it from - I assume they're scraping it from somewhere and not manually doing it themselves (that'd be crazy). I have noticed mistakes before, but it usually checks out if you bother to check their work.

Grieves surely stays in forever now, but only really got the nod with Grace Egan missing the Dreamtime match. Wonder how much that will impact Sierra's game time/role.

Ugh thanks for the heads up.

I will probably still risk it as i was kissed by Tahau's score round 3 and hopefully Grieves is a bit more reliable. Who knows though!

Current planned trades and team. Toogood enables me to loop either ZG or Noffy with Riddell.

Biggest toss up is Bowers or Fish out for Riddell. Leaning towards Fish currently.
Poor Zippy made money too fast! She's not long for my team either but it's a shame she's bloody good to watch.

I changed calculation method slightly, let me know if any of them stand out as possibly wrong.
Just going through my players - Clarke is losing a 61 out of her scores and is lasted as having a BE of 32, while Hampson is losing a score of 41 and has a BE of 64. Clarke is a bit cheaper, but I'd have expected her to have the higher BE of the two.

Grieves only had the one CBA anyway. She played all over the ground and looked great doing everything. If Ferguson isn't a complete idiot (I'm not ruling it out), he'll be looking at ways of expanding her role.

As a Bacon owner, I fear she's the one more likely affected by an Egan return. Her and Wicksteed seem the most likely to lose CBAs to Egan. It should be Grieves, though. If their starting midfield isn't Conti/Grieves/McKenzie by round 1 next year, something has gone wrong.

I've been looking at Sheerin. She is that big bodied type mid, which is a like-for-like replacement for Garner. I don't think North have many others of that type. Riddell, Tripodi, King are all shorties/average height. I have Garner to deal with, which I can only go to another premo, and I have no cash, so will have to look to trading Bowers or Prespakis down to someone if I want to facilitate a Garner to Riddell trade. The other player I'm looking at is Hore. Good run, high TOG, high CBAs, pushes forward to kick goals. Has a high ceiling if she kicks a bag.

There are a few others that might be worth the punt. Goody had a huge chunk of CBAs and looked incredible. Scores against GC could be an outlier though, but if she gets CBAs again, who knows. Heads also looked really good. Played on the wing, but got a lot of the ball and we know she loves to tackle.

Rentsch's BE of 39 sounds very low. I've got her at 50.

These numbers are a little lower than mine but look close.
Cheers, I've tweaked my mysterious parameter and my sheet is pretty close to X's now, with 49 for Rentsch.

They're now both 42, does that seem better? I'm also using a 5-game weighted average so they aren't losing those just yet.
Likewise, if Painter's B/E is really only 45 she might be worth holding at least another week before moving on.
Updated to 59, sorry!

Rentsch and Painter match my numbers now

I have up to 1.39mil for a mid play.
Someone talk me out of going Roberts and keeping 110k to move with next week.

Other realistic options are Gardiner, Nascawen, Bonnici

Talk you out of it?

Ok.

We will ignore the gold coast walkover last week, but round 2, Ella Heads tagged Garner.

So insert this week's "am I a midfielder or gun forward" Ella Roberts...
Garner had no issues boosting her score by kicking 6 goals..
6 might be out of reach for Roberts, but she could kick 4 if we can stop bloody Scholz waltzing out of the ruck with a clearance of her own.

Not sure the tag worked, but you'd think they also have a plan of "limiting" Roberts

Unfortunately for Port Adelaide, it simply had no answer for Garner, with Ella Heads and Ashleigh Woodland attempting the role of limiting her.

Early trades have me going Rowbottom to Roberts, at least she's fun to watch.
Rowbottom just depressing to watch as she just doesn't have enough help.

I can go Fish, Bowers or Prespakis up to Hanks or Gardiner, feel like Fish has 1-2 more weeks of cash gen so think ill hold her one more atleast. Bowers probably goes over Prespakis, now to who though...

Sydney seem to have a good run for mids in the next 3 weeks so leaning that way, but feel like they have to many mouths to feed that if they don't win by alot there could be drop offs.

Take a look at Roberts most recent stats. There's no bigger case in the league of a player needing to score goals to go big in Fantasy.

If she scores goals, she goes over 100. If she doesn't, she goes 70-80. The more she scores goals, the more she impacts the game. Oppo coaches know this. Any decent oppo coaches will try to shut her down.

She's so fun to watch, but she's so far above anyone else on WC, they will start giving her more attention the more she pops her head up. The next 3 for WC have the ability and depth to shut her down, to some degree.

I've got her circled as a possible target around Round 7, where her run really opens up somewhat.

Yeah is a very simple calculation. I tried to adapt the formula that got sent in here last week but couldn't get anywhere with the ratios so kind of just used my own common sense. Nobody really has matching numbers anyway lol

Does the job

Nice work!
To have only 1 rookie on field, after 3 rounds completed is very impressive.

Riddell shaping up to having a Noffy-type year so shrewd move that one.

Good luck, your team seems well set.

Lauren Young listed as a test for Port. Easy in for anyone who needs a $300K forward, if she gets named. Would have been first overall pick in 2023 if it had been an open draft.

Thanks mate - team is set just had some shut scores to start the year (Dunlop 30 instead of Murphy 66, then Murphy 26 and then Watson and Heath).

Hopefully if the team fires this week; then I’ll fly up the rankings.

I don't know what your other planned trades are or how much cash you have, but could you do Watson down to Grieves, Boyd on field and Garner up to Riddell?

Either way, the news that Garner could be just 2 weeks has me thinking I need to be prepared to bring her back in. If we could get a week without a forced trade, that'd be nice. I'd like to go Toogood and Young next week then Garner the week after. If I have to bring in a $300K red dot to get it done, I'll do that. I can see a world where I go Fish to Sheerin next week as a one-week play.

Making a rather crude attempt at a DVP. This is what I have for rucks - admittedly it's very lean on data due to Bella, Dupuy etc having only played 1 game, a lot of ruck sharing and fluctuation in TOG/RC% and well there only being 3 rounds.
