Just hanging on when the match is going to be so I can get flights before the prices go insane.

The QF has been either Thursday night or Saturday afternoon for the past couple of years so that the QF loser gets the extra rest over the EF winner, but the AFL won't hesitate to break their 'rules' on this if it suits them.

Obviously they'd rather our game in prime time, but they'll be looking to hide the GWS hosted match in a lesser spot if they can, and if they play us on Thursday they basically have to play the GWS one on Friday. So Saturday might actually be a chance.

Please not Thursday night.
I have reluctantly accepted my fate that it will be Thursday night. All scenarios for the AFL paint this picture the best and most logical avenue

Although, Dillon and his administration constantly do dumb as **** things so maybe we will get a Saturday twilight. Which I would not be opposed to for my own selfishness

Well won't be going to Adelaide for this, but we'll get a home semi or prelim now at least.
I'll probably go to the Geelong v Brisbane game just to get to go to something.

Hope we're not on the Thursday night!

I can’t get my head around the preference of Friday over Thursday? Especially with an interstate match.

We’re an old squad travelling for a QF there is no scenario where it benefits us to be coming up against a younger and fitter squad in GWS or Hawthorn/ GC with an extra days break. Ditto if I’m Adelaide. Particularly in our case unless we’re on a red eye we’re back in Melbourne Saturday morning when the Giants might have been recovering in their own bed for two extra nights.

It’s an absolute no brainer to have the losing QF team get the extra days break and the Cats game will be on the Saturday (probably twilight).

Over the past 2 seasons, 1 v 4 has been the Thursday night game.

Surely this has Friday night written all over it though.

It's because I work for a living - have to get up early on a Friday morning. It's hard to even watch it on TV, let alone ever attend a Thursday night game, when I am up at 4am on a Friday morning. Thursday night footy is hard on a school and work night.

As do I. I’ll likely be at the game after driving over and up at 5:30 the day before and day of (with multiple disruptions through the night with two kids under 3).

My preference though come finals is always what’s most likely to see us win 17. I’d want us playing at 2am on a Tuesday if it meant it gave us an advantage!
