A 46 team EFNL season 2026 surely we look at getting rid of D4 and going 4 divisions which I doubt the EFNL would do.A 6 team D4 I have reservations about and if we did do what I have suggested it would be Premier 10 teams,D1,2 and 3 12 teams.BUT I can see merit in a 6 team D4 if there are teams struggling in it this season.Tough time ahead for EFNL and all clubs on what way to go.Interesting that just yesterday AFL Vic announced new processes for clubs wanting to move leagues.
The club needs to submit a request to AFL Vic by June 30, having already met with both their current league and prospective league.
Where there is a dispute, AFL Vic will rule with a strong emphasis on objective measures rather than “feelings”.
All in all it’ll be harder to move leagues.
The SFNL are not keen to hand over clubs (they stopped Ashwood and Casey Thunder womens), neither are Outer East. I’m sure the EFNL will look for VAFA clubs that will only cannibalise their own.
Don’t know where the league are going to find four clubs, at this stage they look to be dreaming on Doncaster and Nunawading as the big clubs around the corner have all the juniors.
Not to mention Berwick and Beaconsfield now bring so obviously more suited to SFNL.
