Can somebody smarter than me please help curb my anxiety?

I had Sniff as VC and Shitfield as Captain. Now he has fallen over I'm stressing on winning my league matchup.

However even with the inclusion of his captains score of 54, Shitfield will not be in my top 18 scorers. Does that mean he is a DNP, and i get Sniff's VC score? It is the only thing that will save my matchup.

Sadly it counts i think, its basically Captain + 17 other scorers.

Stringer is on, so Whit is out. There goes my captain. I didn't have him as captain all week, but everyone had him ranked pretty high on the captain's choice. Sigh.

Same. Was actually tempted to take Smith's 94, as it rarely works for me when I chase a captain score. Sure enough, it didn't work again.

Noooo. Had a 19 point lead at halftime with Rowston as my last player. My opponent has Freijah vs Tigers. I am gone, even if Rowston gets a ton.

this is from warnie, so it might not count but you wont get the VC.

"Pretty sure if 54 (2 x 27) isn’t in your best 18 scores, it won’t count. You don’t get a VC activated as your captain played."

And to make matters worse, they've taken 4 off Whitfield now as well

Nah unfortunately not. It counts as your score.
