Will be fascinating to see how we go with the quicker/more nimble midfield and also what happens with Macrae.

Early in the season his TOG % was as high as 92%, and it was over 80% in 9 of the first 10 games, but in the last 6 weeks it was 63%, 71%, 66%, 65%, 55%, 22%.
He did get that nasty injury, which l dont think he fully recovered from?

Will be interesting indeed. May stayed though. It was mostly Petracca and Oliver out and Steele and Mihochek in, so I think a lot of that cancels each other out.

May looked cooked anyway. Don't think he'll do much on field.

Petracca is a proper champion player so not sure Steele or Mihochek are covering him.Oliver has been ordinary so Steele probably replaces him.

They really need Langford to step up and play midfield now. Windsor needs to go from a Darcy Wilson level to star very quickly. They have some great kids and I like Latrelle Pickett but don't seem huge improvement in them apart from new coach bounce.

So much is going to fall to a 34 year old Melksham and 33 year old Gawn. A few mid tier players could step up I guess. They have a lot of almost guys in that range.

Macrae might have been pushed out to fast track youth. I think we probably need one mature body inside extractor most weeks unless one of our youth step up massively or we move Nas and Hall into the centre a lot more. Garcia and or Phillipou would probably need to make big stride to push him out of the best 22 still.

When did he get injured? Seem to remember him blasting out of the gates for the first month. I was so pumped about him giving it to the Dogs, but he was quietish, and from there on seemed like a regular soldier type, like Steele i suppose.

West Coast game.

A jumper full of broken ribs and a punctured lung.

I reckon Josh Carr may get them up & going next season, may surprise a few.
But also, they've only been relying on a few stars.
Their problem is good depth.
Melbourne seem pretty similar to us list wise.
Dont think the loss of Oliver & Patracca will hurt too much.
We should be ahead of those two though.
Port lack depth with key position players. So if they get a few injuries they will drop off. Done nothing to improve their list between seasons.

Think they’ll be in no man’s land.

Melbourne outside of Gawn and Pickett don’t have a lot of stars. A lot of 30+ year olds they are hoping start to perform after being moved on by their previous clubs and a lot of high draft pick youth which is an issue with consistency.

Bottom 6 for me.

KING HITS MILESTONE ON RETURN FROM INJURY

Injury prone forward Max King has taken his biggest strides yet towards full fitness, completing a 90 minute running block at St Kilda training.

The key forward, who did not play a game last year due to knee issues, worked through his biggest session of the pre-season so far on Monday.

While King remained separated from his teammates and with a small rehab group of Saints, he moved freely as he builds up a specified program.

The Saints plan for him to be in full training in the new year, alongside recruit Tom De Koning, who was on the track on Monday as he works through a minor calf setback.
