Is there anyone at Port that we'd want? Decent young player that we could maybe get for a future 2nd or 3rd? Only one I can think of is Ollie Lord
If Snack Pack gets an upgraded number or delisted then his number gets freed up

Think harder

Worked for the Hawks to trade a guy out then bring him back a few years later

If we got those two then we would need to focus on utilities, smalls, and a gorilla KPD in 2027/28.
We still have picks we can draft for needs
Yeah, awesome of Ralphy to do that. These kind of shows use my edits quite often and this is the first time its happened.

HVH is a much more accomplished high mark, and has shown more as a forward than CDT did at junior level. He's legit ruck size at 206cm to CDT's 200. He's not the same level of runner as CDT who's an elite athlete, but HVH apparently recorded an incredible vertical leap in preseason testing and is no slouch athletically himself. CDT moves about as well as any ruck I've seen alongside Luke Jackson, and his post tap ground level stuff is excellent. HVH is also good here but not quite that level. Both excellent skills by hand and foot.
When I watch HVH it makes me happy we didn’t take CDT

Not the biggest stat haul but a typically industrious and skillful display from Neocleous who was a late call up to represent the Academy and proved why he should have been part of the squad all along. He pushed up high off a forward flank, ran hard to get involved in the play, chased and tackled, and damaged with the ball using his elite evasive skills and excellent field kicking.

I’d take HVH over walker regardless.
Walker does butcher the ball a bit I have noticed.
Cochrane seems to be an injury risk as well which isn’t a great sign early days.
Yeah but if we don’t bid we don’t get the extra end of first round compensation pick

Yeah no doubt we will bid which is fine… just saying that I’m more than happy missing out on the two kids once they are matched.
HVH’s ruck craft and ability to take contested marks is something we aren’t used to.
Imagine finally being able to rove to a dominant ruckman

Michaels has mentioned about 4 times now on Tigercast that he likes El Nour but can't see him drafted to the tigers. I see El Nour as a Broad replacement and would definitely swap 6 games of Broad in the rest of the season to see what El Nour can do. We don't have many fast med-tall interceptors in our wings. I only see Trainer.

and if we dont have enough spots create them! Ryan is gone, payout and delist as one example. Cummings shoulder and possibly Simms or Smilie for righting off the season. Get El Nour , Toner and a ruck in the MSD please
I’ve said it 3 times here, you cannot delist a contracted player unless they agree to retire. I know Ryan is sub standard but we should just play him in the VFL.

This may get a bit of criticism but here goes.

Ask Prestia, Broad and Lynch to all retire. The mid season draft is after the Dreamtime game an we should give them a farewell. The club could then pick 3 players in the mid season draft and trial them for half a season.

Say it as many times as you like but its not true. You can delist a player under contract, you just have to pay out their contract in full and it is counted in the salary cap for the remainder of the contract term. Carlton did it with Jaxon Binns last year.

If a player voluntarily retires early, then it is usually a negotiated figure.

My guess is we bid on Dougie/Walker
and than take Harry Van Hattum at pick 3.

Sucks how we bottom and we will have the 3rd pick in the draft what an absolute joke.
If the bonus pick for dropping a top 5 pick comes true then I'm happy. We make the Blues and Port pay through the nose, get a really good player in a position we need (if we take HVH), and then get another good pick.

We win by making those teams pay top $, get a player we want and then get another good pick in a relatively deep draft. Lot of good looking md around that pick, early days though.

Patterson was ferocious in his attack on the contest and the man in the first half, winning the ball on a number of occasions for his team and executing his skills at a high level including a lovely running goal in the second term that sparked a rally by the Academy team. He faded out of the contest in the second half, perhaps struggling a little with match fitness after an injury layoff in recent weeks.

We just have to bid on both players if we are in the pole position
Don't we only have to bid on one of them? I'd bid on Walker first, then take HVH. Bombers or whoever comes 17th can bid on Cochrane. Either way we would qualify for that compo pick (if it gets brought in this year).

Nah if we have to bid on one, we should bid on both. Make them both burn as many picks as possible.

And that way Essendon won’t get a extra pick
