When you look the draw is really strange, normally you always have the odd hard game or easy game in a group of 5 matches.
We start with 5 easy games then the next group of 5 are all pretty hard.
I’d expect at least one hard game in the first 5 and one easy game in the next 5 minimum.

The Crows will be itching to say that they ruined our season after a 5-0 start.

How can we have gotten rid of Hinkley after the binfire that was the 2025 season, gotten a much easier draw, and win the same amount of games? Do you think we've gotten worse from 2025?

I think it will take time for Carr to build us back up. So I’m expecting us to be around the same area of the ladder. Hopefully with a lot less 10 goal drubbings like in 2025.

We’ve cut deep (which is the right call) and brought in some role players. Didn’t really have much to work with this off-season thanks to the poor 2024 trade period.

That 2026 draw is probably the easiest the club has had since we joined the AFL, if the key players can stay fit and healthy for the majority of the season 11-12 wins should be very achievable.

I’m not expecting instant success with Carr also as there’s still a lot of work to be done with our list.
In saying that with the shit run we had with injuries last year and the second hardest draw we got 9 wins.
With this draw next year and with even half the injury problems we’d have to win more than 9 games.
If what you’re saying turns out to happen this club is in a worse position than even I could imagine.

My understanding is that PAFC requests that of the away games we play in Victoria, that one we play, is against Collingwood at the MCG. For the last few years it has been the largest crowd we have played against each year.

I can see Sydney improving and with St Kilda not leaving Melbourne after the 7th of June they must be some chance also.

Yeah that 2024 season was crazy, we finished second but the team that finished 8th (Hawthorn) were shorter favs to win the flag than us.
After the 14 goal loss to Geelong in that first final it was never going to end good.

One who you'd expect to change his prediction will be Josh Jenkins, who suggested recently that Port might actually win less games in 2026 than we did this year, because the master coach is no longer here .
