Essendon has lost its last 14 games - if they beat us in round 2, it'll be the greatest "what happened Port?" in history.
Nice fixture.
Couldn't have asked for better double ups, but you just never know who improves but they look to be good double ups against sides we've got good track records against.
Geelong on Anzac Day night is good.
The 3 Fridays nights in a row is cool but it's ends a really tricky stretch between rounds 6-10.
The first 5 rounds are very kind to us, my only concern is that it might take a few weeks for things to gel under Carr's new game plan. Those first 5 rounds we have to capitalise on, we must bank those wins early and get on a roll, which is pretty much what the crows did this year.
Not as many regional trips.
I don't mind the arvo games at home, suits me better these days and at the start of the year when it's still warm it's quite nice.
Never playing Collingwood or Brisbane at home is getting a little baffling though, but as others have mentioned we suck against them whether at home or away so maybe we are better off not wasting a home game on them.
I'm happy.

AFL hoping to catch us napping at the beginning of the year and we drop a few games to the bottom 4 teams. There is no excuse that we shouldn't be 5-0 after Gather Round. Its the best possible draw we could hope for.
