Remember when the AFL season would start between the middle of March and as late as March 29th? Now because of this Round 0 BS the season starts closer to the end of February than when it traditional starts.

It’s to stop the NRL from getting in early.

Their Vegas round is massive in Sydney, they are already advertising it heavily.

Sick of playing the Swans at the SCG as the AWAY Team - GAGF AFL!

2021 - SCG
2022 - Marvel
2023 - SCG
2023 - Elim Final - MCG
2024 - SCG
2025 - SCG
2026 - SCG

Now I am expecting the AFL to schedule our second game against the Swans at the SCG as the home team. :p

Are you sick of playing down at Kardinia Park?

I think overall we don't get a bad run compared to other clubs, although that is about to change given we look like a bottom 6 lock.

We have the equal lowest number of interstate trips last year (6) including two of those against West Coast. We are really hard done by

Was not the point of my post at all and gave an example dating back 7yrs v Sydney.

We have been fixtured for years playing Sydney at their home ground as the away Team.

I have NOT mentioned any other interstate Teams and you are making something out of nothing just for arguments sake.

As for the AFL, so much for equalisation - non existent!

Here’s another AFL overeaction, NRL play their opening round in USA so AFL must take advantage of a weekend situation that means absolutely SFA, but but but it’s great for our game somehow, tv rights money blah blah blah…

Brilliant GWS Media team 😂

Mothers Day Lol GIF by reactionseditor

The problem with this crap fixturing Aph is the AFL are only interested in just handpicking certain clubs that are creating its best TV Rights $numbers, the SCG takes 50k to fill the rest of the stadiums are VFL size attendance numbers…
It’s an incredibly poor concept, there’s no need for the first round to not have every club competing, it’s not rocket science 🧬

This will be a great way to kick off the year imo. The Tigers game is usually competitive, but one side or other has been in rebuild mode. Hardly ever contending at the same time. Swans will be a good build up, hopefully we bring the A game.

But this exact thing could be said of Round 1.

Why do we need split '0' round at all? All it does is uneven's the fixture even further. And now they go an introduce 'Wildcards' for 2 teams. So effectively a top 10.

More teams in the finals than out. On top of 8 rule changes in 1 year.

Dillon needs to be sacked.

The AFL is not accountable to anyone but themselves, good luck on getting Dillon sacked. They probably gave us and the Tigers a handshake agreement we always get round one, so got around it with round zero. At the end of the day first game against the Swans will get a lot of viewers.
