It's almost as if we the fans expect the AFL to play fair with the fixture. I was amazed we weren't slotted in to play Port tbh. Maybe they'll be nice and treat us like the Pies and we can play our second half of the season with all games at the G.

I guess next time don't lose the best Marquee forward in the game to a competitor and you won't play the said competitor in the first round. I'll be happy if we get a bevy of Saturday games and very few Sunday games.

Carlton will launch Gather Round against Adelaide for the second time in four years.

Takes time to claw back MCG games from.the Ian Collins deal.

This is a stepping stone to mostly MCG games.

We are pretty much guaranteed to fill Marvel. Which the AFL owns.

If we have fewer games there someone else has to take up the slack (according to the AFL).

We just agreed to give up a home MCG game every second year after having the second highest attendances. Disgraceful.

So after 4 seasons we play a SA team in a ‘non neutral away’ gather round game for the 2nd time while 9 other clubs have not had their turn including Brisbane who have made 7 consecutive finals and won the last 2 flags.

True...but there's a bigger picture. The draw is inequitable enough...so surely it makes sense to share around who plays an Adelaide side in gather round. In what world does it make sense that we'll do it twice before some clubs have done it once?

The AFL proving yet again they have no clue.
