Agree to diasgree.
I live bayside and to get to the ground by train and out is awful.
Atmosphere is seriously lacking.
Food relatively expensive.
And, as mentioned I've been to many sold out games with 45-48k spectators. Capacity is approx 56k. Large blocks of L2 partailly filled. (Medallion Club etc.)
For me the G wins hands down.
We have over 100k members, or at least we did, other than the obvious GWS, Freo, GC, Port. we should avoid the place.

I agree we shoudl be getting more games at the G but we need to re-negotiate our marvel deal...

What has improved at Marvel?

The food (range), match day experiences for kids are better (from what ive heard, no kids of my own), larger screens for visually challenged people like myself and trains to and from run much smoother and more often than they used to.

MCG is stuck in the past. Needs an uplift desperately. Feels like walking into a ground built 50 years ago. Only half decent stand is MCC and the corporate areas on lvl 2 of the others.

I thought for the double up games you were meant to play 2 teams from the top 6, 2 from the bottom 6 and 2 from the middle 6. This essentially creates as much fairness as possible when you dont play everyone equally. We seem to have 1 from the bottom 6 (rich), 2 from the middle (saints and dogs), and 3 from top 6 (pies, freo, lions). This seems grossly unfair! Or is this 2 from each third no longer a thing?

Well… if I am in charge of the club, the rounds that my eyes are drawn to are in 18 and 19. For too long those slides have slapped us around. If we are to revive a successful culture, I want to see us taking it to those two clubs consistently and show we won’t get pushed around. The results in those games will be a marker for me on the progress of our cultural reset.

not overly carlton specific - but the AFL have failed to protect themselves from a repeat of the Gold Coast - Essendon fiasco if there is a cancellation again in the opening round

Like I said, one stand needs an upgrade, the other stand is pretty amazing. Vastly superior to Marvel.
