Would be at least 200, but honestly should be 300 games personally. I don't think this clause should be available for every player. You'd need to show very few incidents over that period and no Charlie Cameron shouldn't have got it that was farcical. They tightened the allowance after that case.
My beloved JPK didn't get the good bloke discount!

Been too long to remember his record, but you'll find these only being used for minor offences ie max of a week.

He had a blemish free record, not even a fine.

Yes but we didn't challenge it not that it would have mattered, didn't he do a hammy or something anyway?

Heeney had 200 games and still got suspended for a football act.

I'm worried Port Adelaide will be what West Coast has been for the last 5-6 years especially with the emergence of Tassie into the comp in a couple years time

Which was probably not enough needed to be closer to 300
Where do you pull these random figures from? What are they based on? I would think 200 games blemish free record is enough for a good guy free pass. You are just saying 300 to win the argument without any justification.
Is Heeney a malicious player? Does he do cheap shots? No and No.
He is a good clean player. He played 200 good clean games.
He deserved a good guy free pass. Instead he got suspended for a football act.

You can say he needed 300 games but I reckon he would still have been suspended. At the time the AFL was in crackdown mode to set examples. Heeney got caught up in those politics. Your 200 or 300 had nothing to do with it.

He did say probably. Not the worst off the cuff comment. You're probably right though about it not making a difference in Heeney's case.

I don’t even think it should be 300 myself but really it’s going to need to be at least that I mean they do say 200, but honestly it won’t be. I’d be shocked if they allow this clause to be implemented at 200, Pendles was double what Heeney was there’s a difference at least in terms of the tribunal. The wrong year too as the backlash after the farcical Charlie Cameron case was still there.

For all those engaged in the 200 vs 300 games / "good bloke" argument:

Clause 3.1(g), 2026 AFL Tribunal Guidelines
Players will not automatically receive a reduced sanction for a good record. However, if a Classifiable Offence is contested or referred to the Tribunal, a Player with an exemplary record may argue that their good record constitutes exceptional and compelling circumstances under Regulation 19.6(a)(ii) (which would make it inappropriate to apply the consequences in Appendix 1 of the AFL Regulations to the determined classification). This record refers only to matches played at AFL or State League level and leave of the Tribunal Chairperson is not required to tender evidence in relation to this issue. In such circumstances, the Tribunal would determine the appropriate sanction in its absolute discretion.

Happy?

I am not happy that Heeney got suspended. Never will be. For a simple football act.
AFL are not consistent despite rules.
They make examples of players at times citing rules and then relax those same interpretation of the rules.
Heeney did not deserve to be suspended.
He would do the same thing again given the same situation.
AFL would rule in different ways depending upon their flavour of the month rule crackdowns.

I don't worry about them at all
Fair I just hate it when clubs are so unbearably crap that its basically a gimme game when you play them especially with the lopsided fixture that you play 6 teams twice.

Like Port is legit play through Butters (gone leave), Rozee, JHF (on a good day) and Georgiades and then just role players
