A couple of tenuous options:
  • Yze played in that game. Is this a sign that Gibcus will be back?
  • Alternatively, Grlj has the weirdest name since Brent Grgic, perhaps he goes ballistic this week

Lots to ponder

Why was Grgic pronounced differently to Grgic (Ilija) ?

Season 2026 has started off well here, nailing Captains early on undoubtedly assisting.

Like plenty have Petracca and Rozee to deal with, adding Dawson to the injury list for at least this week.

Not sold on (Rozee to) Houston with Moore and Howe back, despite the price (this was before others here and the Tweeter world suggested the same, after checking out the DFS 'with and without' daaaarta). Whilst I'd like him (had him last year), for ranking purposes can't go Ash with the bye next week, likewise NWM (even though leaves me with 21 or 22 depending on what do with Dawson). J Daicos has popped his head up, but like Houston I can't be sure what his role is with Moore and Howe back. Wary of Worrell's calf particularly off a 5 day break. Stewart won and lost me games last season, was placed on my LTNA (long term never again list). The no player over the age of 30 rule applies with my team so I can't entertain my man Zorko. Point in time the only other players entering the frame for me are Clark (another I had last year), who is a rollercoaster, and some interest in McKercher with Logue out, but who knows what his role is going to be week in week out (121 BE attainable v ESS but if he puts up another 80 he'd be straight away on the block). Anyways, it comes down to one of these lot.

Petracca to Holmes is all but locked in, despite the risk of the occasional tag. Some temptation with Merrett, but I already have Parish and Roberts and at least for now Sharp - I can't bring myself to bring another Bomber into the side, and we know if Merrett gets attention he goes to water (just like Serong, who I had last year and single handedly won or lost me games). I'm expecting my boy Will Ashcroft to improve, but can't go there just yet with that BE, and even with Suitcase out but back next week (I expect, anyway) there's too many points to go around in the Lions midfield. May end up in my finished team, time will tell.

Leaning on keeping Dawson if it's a precautionary thing with the quick backup (has to be, given he wasn't on their injury list, hey?).

Depending on the cash situation after Holmes and which defender I go will decide whether I ditch Sharp (less Bombers the better), or Lombard. Expect Lombard to snag the odd good score against shite teams, whereas Sharp can't snag the odd good score as he plays for Essendon and they don't play Essendon. If were forced to trade either of these to fund the Rozee/Trac trades would likely be Sharp, and bring in that Scerri kid (assuming he's named, a $99k MF DPP is handy at the best of times).

Spent a fair bit of time on this so feel free to comment :thumbsu:

Good to know Sinclair isn't over 30!

are 30 year olds over 30? (Bont & Trac)

Happy people are doubting Houston because of Moore and Howe's returns to the team.
It means that I, and a few others, will reap the rewards of our renewed half-back gull, with others forced to pay up after another ton.

The Pies gameplan won't change a great deal because Moore and Howe are back - Fly has repeatedly said people are in to perform a role - so that role will be similar to what we've already seen. Good to see us using Dan to his best ability.

Brains Trust: who do I sack first, Windsor or Coleman?

Not sure of BE as I refuse to give money to Rupert & friends

Don't have Windsor but I'm giving Coleman one more week with his BE. Hardly set the world on fire in first 2 games back (turned it over plenty of times, and well short of a run/fitness); hopefully for ours, and my clubs sake the week off has done him good. We know he can score.

great commentary genuinely 👍

Blamires seems borderline must have, base price, decent role, mature aged and scoring seems sustainable (from a tiny sample). Would imagine we would wanna be pumping games into him as well although you never know with rookies
Didn't realise he was a mature ager, definitely sells him to me. Thanks

Its fomo time!
Settled on this for now.
Will have 4 rucks, X, Pom, Pitt and McA, (five if you include White) but will trade Pitt to another premo when he maxes out.
McA will have to warm the bench after this week, but Xerri’s C scores should cancel out that loss of points.

Love The Ash pick.

Not going Houston ?

I have 3 pies in my team.
I think one of my tooth is getting loose :moustache: /
I want to see if there’s any impact on Houston with both Moore and Howe coming back in. Even with a 100 projection over the next month he’ll only go up about $50k so I’m happy to watch a couple games and pay the extra premium if he continues with the form.

Re Ash: I had him as a starter right into my rd0 team. I think he’s a great POD.

I am not sold on Houston. I will be avoiding for now….

People also told me I was crazy for loading up on Bont, Gawn and Xerri. That’s going ok for now 😛

RE: Houston

Seems a couple of Collingwood nuffies are taking him, yet a few are unsure and unconvinced.
This is not 2025!
Time to retrieve your cojones from your other-half's handbag and back in our boy!

This divide amongst the ferals does not help any non-Pies fans, but.... I'M ALL IN MUTHAF***AS

Nine goals in a half was pretty good, too

Yeah, but that was H&A. The tension at that 98 Qualifier was palpable. Genuine belief for the first time in decades we were a legit chance to go all the way. The atmosphere in that first quarter in particular was next level. IIRC we had to play Norf in a Prelim on Friday night when no-one played Friday nights.

First year playing supercoach, only played fantasy previously, very confused by this whole 4 rucks concept but very tempted by my man X going nuts and getting FOMO with all the people in here bringing him in.

Started out ok (ranked 3k after round 1, 10k after round 2)

Any advice?
