Its a shame we never got to see him with the way we play now (not the bombing shit on the weekend, the other games where we linked up with handball, moved the ball with pace and ht up leads), think he could have been really good for us.

Was actually excited when we got him, cushioned the blow somewhat of losing Nibs - Had no idea about his injury history.

The McAdam pickup never made any sense. Not Tim lambs finest moment.

I wish him all the best in retirement.
It made total sense.

We were doing the right thing by a much loved premiership player by getting him home for family support, dealt with the club we needed to and brought in the type of player we desperately needed at the time - An x-factor, goal kicking small forward. Their hands were tied somewhat and did the best that was possible. The issue was they rolled the dice with the injury history and it didn't pay off.

Iirc McAdam was recruited the year before ANB left? The only real link is we essentially got back the pick we gave up for McAdam the following year for ANB to go to the Crom.

McAdam came in a year before. Was the deal where we held Petty. Traded a future second which Adelaide gave us back the following year for ANB.

Yeah you're both 100% right, my bad. I got it mixed up given it was the pick we got for Nibs that we gave for McAdam.

Take out the Nibs swap bit then, but still stand by it making sense from a needs perspective, just ended up being one where the house won on the odds.

Crazy people think us giving up a 2nd rounder, at least a few hundred grand and a list spot for 3 years for a bloke who played like 2 games for us was a good decision but here you have it.

That said anyone got any clues who we might take tomorrow? 3 picks so we must rate a fair few.

Not sure who we take but I wanna say the Mid season draft is one of the few things they AFL have gotten right in the last 20 years.

Three picks tomorrow is three more players that can help fast track the King era list build.

Agree, good to turn over the list.

I think we target
1. Inside mid accumulator with good skills and speed
2. Mid sized crafty forward
3. KPD

Crazy that I Love Lamb thinks Bailey Laurie is the worst ever demon player.

That's how this works right? We just make things up that were never actually said?

Mich lives the majority of his life in hindsight. Its truly incredible.

If I was him id change my username to Captain Hindsight with this avatar...

"Look!!! Hes logged onto big footy"
"My god its him, its really him!!"
"Hes come to save us from bad list and drafting decisions, Captain Hindsight!!"

Captain Hindsight, a hero of the modern age. Once known as Micho/I Love Lamb, a hero was born when a freak accident gave him the amazing power of extraordinary hindsight. From bad trades like Shane McAdam and not having the sense to stay at pick 30 and draft Logan Morris, there is no list decision that wasn't terrible for Captain Hindsight!

Close

Would rather that than draft a Melbourne plodder who can’t get out of the 2s like Laurie
I don’t get the hype about Laurie. Has shown nothing at VFL level. Looks like a Spargo with worse connection or a short Melksham. Yet to trouble VFL level defenders or even look dangerous in the VFL.
What’s the go with Laurie and why did we trade a future first rounder for this kid?

3 years on our list and nothing but a list clogger and can’t even get a run in the firsts behind the likes of Spargo, Chandler, ANB and Melksham.

Is this kid gonna be another 2nd round pick like Sparrow, Jordan and Spargo who Goodwin never gives up on and tries to shoehorn into the team despite next to no improvement and next to no AFL traits?
can’t believe we traded a future 1st for Laurie.

Has to be one of our worst trades to date.
We should sniff out offers for Laurie. If we could snare a 3rd rounder we should take it and run.

Begs beleif we traded a F1 for the pick to get him.
Knowing Tim Lamb, Laurie probably has a 6 year deal sitting in front of him now waiting to be signed.
How’s Jefferson looking? We are really starting to cook up some draft picks.

Laurie, Weiderman, Jefferson, Howes, Sparrow

Is Adams playing?
To top off a great day, Laurie has just got a contract extension until 2026.

You know what they say when things come in 3s
Let’s be honest. Laurie will come in and cook everything up and Sparrow will be back in next week.

Our man unless the Eagles pounce apparently. Has done medicals at both clubs.

Rumour is we're looking at Fitzy, a backup ruck, and then - pending what's left - a key defender.

If the Eagles take him we may look at another mid type but don't have any goss on who atm.

Tairon Ah-Mu has also nominated. Haven't seen anything to suggest we're considering taking him though.
