sorry guys, guess it was habit.

you dont get to 45 and all of a sudden start following AFL.

i did jump ship though which in a lot of your eyes would be a lot worse.

i would still like to post here on occassion if it is allowed in the site rules?

Hell we tolerate some of the eagle mods popping by every now a then, i'm sure you'll be more than welcome.

Just getting the thread back on track why is I that with set shots being so important that we don't have someone dedicated to ensuring the guys pop them through?
Even if they are just a sport psych or something, as goal kicking is mostly about routine and head space.
Or does it just boil down to the players practicing?

I started a thread on the main board that didn't take to well about accuracy after the round just gone. A lot of teams have been suffering with it including us.

Inaccuracy has existed since the game began. As harve's said on 6pr the other night within a game it can be like a disease. One guy misses, another guy misses etc.
Tell you what, the club/person that solves it will be hailed a genius.

its a confidence thing - nothing wrong with getting the jitters as AFL players are only human (except for Hill, but we'll get to that later)

spot on about it being a disease though - it spreads through the team

one player misses - no big deal for the next player to take a shot
but if the second player misses then the third player is going to be under a lot more pressure

it rises exponentially probably

anyone want to graph it?

they need to practise kicking under pressure a lot more.

Tell the players at training every time they don't nail a set shot the whole team has to do 50 situps

I remember watching 'On the Couch' last year and Hird (I think it was Hird) was saying that most teams don't practice goal kicking due to lack of time and worry about injury while kicking.

He said while going off the ground after training some players will stay behind and have a kick but it's not in the training program.
